Concise timeline in link

I wonder why Brooks Houck, who allegedly killed CR, did it. Drugs has been thrown out there.

I feel so sad for Sherry Ballard. It is notable how thankful she has been to the FBI. I think they know what happened but much of it they cannot prove.

This kinda has Melanie Flynn vibes.

I think he was abusive and/or she was wanting to leave. Don't think Brooks wanted his child taken away or dealing with custody. Also his brother is a cop and they strike me as a family who thinks they are above the law. JMO.

But isn't it worth discovering that you are, in fact, not a robot?

I think CR TB and JE murders are all connected and doesn't have anything to do with custody of a child. I think it was something more Nefarious. JMO

Prosecutors handling the death investigation of missing Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers are asking the court to order testing be done on two hairs found inside Rogers’ vehicle in 2016.
[.....]
A motion filed Wednesday by prosecutor Shane Young revealed that two hairs found in the driver’s seat and floor of Rogers’ vehicle had not been tested. This was the first time the hair evidence was mentioned publicly.
[.....]
State police determined the hairs were not similar in characteristics to Rogers’ hair, according to court documents. The hair was sent to the FBI for testing back in 2016, but a court never ordered that testing be allowed. Young’s motion states Houck and Joseph Lawson have consented to the hair testing. Steven Lawson did not agree to testing, according to court documents. Prosecutors have arranged for testing to be conducted by BODE Technologies within the next four weeks. The state will pay for the testing, according to Young’s motion. If a judge agrees the hair should be tested, Young has also requested the court order Steven Lawson to perform a cheek swab to compare DNA.
[.....]
A hearing is scheduled for hear Young’s motion on April 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Thank you Niner for the info - hearing tomorrow to see if we should test evidence we've had for NINE years. Wow. This case makes me want to bang my head on something - repeatedly. So much sketchy stuff going on with those two brothers.

1/9/25 Update: Nelson Circuit Judge Charles Simms has postponed the trial of Lawson charged in connection with the disappearance of Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers. His trial, originally scheduled to begin 2/11/25 in Warren County, has been rescheduled for 5/27/25 @ 9am. Judge Simms granted a continuance Thursday morning during a motion hour after the defense filed the request last Friday. The motion cited a change in Lawson’s legal representation as a primary reason for the delay. Attorneys Darren Wolff & Zach Buckler joined the case in August 2024, following the withdrawal of Lawson’s previous attorney. The defense sought additional time to prepare. Next pretrial review hearing on 2/2725 @ 1:30pm.
2/27/25 Update: During the Feb. 27 status hearing, Nelson Circuit Court Judge Charles Simms stressed the importance of staying on schedule for Steven Lawson’s May 27 trial date. Judge Simms denied defense motion to delay trial. In Nelson County Court, defense attorney Zach Buckler cautioned Simms that Steven Lawson is still reviewing the prosecution’s "discovery" materials. To keep Lawson on pace for a May trial, Simms offered Lawson space at the Nelson County Circuit Court to review any necessary materials leading up to trial. Simms said he’s willing to make a "special accommodation" if the prosecution & Lawson’s attorneys can agree on what that may be. During Thursday's hearing, all parties agreed to schedule an additional status hearing Thursday, 4/3/25 in Nelson County Circuit Court.
3/26/25 Update: Prosecutors handling the death investigation of missing Rogers are asking the court to order testing be done on two hairs found inside Rogers’ vehicle in 2016. A motion filed Wednesday by prosecutor Shane Young revealed that two hairs found in the driver’s seat & floor of Rogers’ vehicle had not been tested. This was the first time the hair evidence was mentioned publicly. State police determined the hairs were not similar in characteristics to Rogers’ hair, according to court documents. The hair was sent to the FBI for testing back in 2016, but a court never ordered that testing be allowed. Young’s motion states Houck & Joseph Lawson have consented to the hair testing. A hearing is scheduled for hear Young’s motion on 4/3/25 at 1:30pm.
3/27/25 Update: Nelson Circuit Court Judge Charles Simms issued an order for two hairs not previously DNA tested in 2016 to be tested with the intent of obtaining a DNA profile. The hairs were not previously tested because the process would destroy them.

I don’t know if it’s fair for a robot to judge whether or not I am a robot, but that is just me. 😆

According to court documents, Special Prosecutor Shane Young has requested the judge approve DNA testing on two hairs discovered in Crystal Rogers’ car almost a decade ago.

The hairs were gathered using a “tape life” technique and the Kentucky State Police lab determined they were not similar in characteristic to Rogers’ hair.
