The FBI is investigating the body, which was found on the Bell County side of the park.

So far, officials are not releasing a name, age, or if the body is that of a man or a woman.

Sometime on Wednesday, a body was discovered on fire in the park near Sugar Run

“I can tell you that we had a law enforcement emergency in the park today, and it’s forced us to close Highway 988 in the park from the Thomas Walker parking lot on through to Sugar Run at the park boundary there,” said Acting Chief Ranger for the park, Gene Wesloh.
