@Niner just checked again. That earlier link I posted was the only one they had yesterday.

Coverage of this trial has been so spotty!

Okay - thank you! And I must agree - lousy coverage on this case!! I'm sort of glad I do not have tweeter - I'd give Julia a "piece of my mind" on her coverage of the trial.... LOL! :D

Boy, those Stokes boys get around, don't they?

Maybe they just didn't want to look like dunces the way this prosecution does.

Maybe, but why didn’t they investigate Joan? Why didn’t the State ask Lt Smith about where Joan Harmon’s phone was traveling when Pam’s phone was going towards Todd County on the 19th of November? Why hasn’t the State done ANYTHING to exclude Joan Harmon who is known to carry a gun, who had the victim’s cell phone and wanted it open, and who lawyered up with her son because her attorney feared that Kit’s attorney would have a “Perry Mason moment,” from which I inferred that, like Perry Mason did in in almost every show, he might elicit a confession out of Joan or her son who had to be told to “keep his mouth shut” on the day of the arrest. Not to mention the fact that Joan was dating the brother of the Sheriff’s deputy who was conflicted from investigating the case because of the relationship and whose DA girlfriend had been conflicted off another case because of her relationship with the deputy?

This trial is like a bad episode of Dukes of Hazzard..........CourtTV should have Waylon Jennings adding commentary after each witness.

Is this in the same reference of the 5:30ish last call of Pam's? That 'Rocky' testified too? or two separate things?

Rocky said that during her testimony " the scream was like you hit a mouse; not blood curdling". I don't remember who said that Joan was on the call with Pam. Maybe it was Joan herself telling someone.

Yesterday when the cop was on the stand, the defense attorney asked about the phone store and when Joan and kids were in there. The cop was in there when Joan had left and Joan called him... Maybe to know what he knew. But the cop had difficulty saying that Joan had called him. I don't know about of you but I don't have a phone number of any cop. Not that I don't like and appreciate them; but I don't have any cop friends. Maybe there is some truth to the " crooked cops and everyone else" down there in KY.

These hearsay objections and rulings are ridiculous. There should be exceptions as “effect on the listener” “statement against interest” or “residual hearsay” because everything that Joan and her son said to other people should be admissible because the both lawyered up and are unavailable to testify.

Mr. Martin is in a suit jacket and tie this morning. So he may take the stand sometime today.

@Niner, I was trying to take some notes for you, but had to run out to PU my car being serviced, so may have missed someone. I’ll be in & out today.

First witness…
Edward Frye (sp?) (with the Christian Sheriff’s dept.) about a call regarding fight between JH and CH. States JH was aggressive with everyone. CH wanted to secure items in house, put firearms in safe before he and his daughter left.

Next witness…
Constance Amanda Piercy knows JH’s son, she said he actually lived with them a couple times. Sounds like JH threw him out at least one time.

(I think) Next witness…
Eric Warren,Ballistics expert.

ETA: listening to Court TV another was Cassie Espinoza (sp?) knows JH’s son from work. She said Steve Durham came into mini mart and wanted her to deliver message to the son. This was used to try to impeach SD, but blurted out it was the “older” Steve Durham.

Eric Warren is on the stand. He indicates that his test fires are coarser than the other test fires. His report agrees with Ms Collier's that it is coarser. Neither of them showed the Glock had been altered. There were different, larger markings as well as the smaller markings.
It has come out that the test fires used by the State of Kentucky was purchased by the Christian Co, Sheriff's Office. It was NOT ammo from Mr. Martin's home, if I followed that correctly. Ms. Collier did not get her notes to the defense until late May of this year. Mr. Warren had tested and generated his findings July 2020.
He found inconclusive C-that that casing found at Mr. Phillips was NOT likely from Martin's Glock.
Please correct me if I've misunderstood all that as I got a tad confused.
(IMO, The Commonwealth showed their fanny again)

RSBM

I agree with some of your opinions but just know that I'm part of the "everyone else down there in KY"... please don't blanket us all as corrupt! (I'll have to send my gun-totin', moonshine manufacturing, brother/cousin/husband crooked lawman to settle the score :D:p) Honestly, we aren't all horrible people.

Long side bar going on after this break. Maybe about the next witness…hummmm…

Next witness Ollie Ross Litt… (sorry, lost the rest of it!) works/worked for Public Defenders office, now working for the defense. Tried to serve subpoenas on Stokes. This is the guy with the long beard sitting behind CH the whole trial.

Starting lunch break now as they want to do the next witness w/o break.
Guessing it is CM.

Ollie Littlepage-Investigator for Public Defenders Office on the stand-He attempted to find and serve William Stokes-he couldn't. Brother Ed Stokes did not know where he could be found. He did not ask Lt Smith to help locate.

Lunch-Court will resume a quarter after 12 as the next witness will be lengthy and the testimony both direct and cross won't be interrupted by the lunch hour

Court TV confirms he will be testifying. I really hope that we get some kind of jury reaction to him from someone there.

I thought the female prosecutor seems even more scattered today…will she be doing the cross?

…and Christian Martin just called to the stand

Mr. Martin is explaining his dog tags. This is one dog tag, on a string The item that was found on the shelf at Mr. Phillips home. They are not issued like that by the military. I'm not clear if this tag has the rubber boot(edging) on it. Mr. Martin says this is not one of his tags.

He said that “wasn’t” his dog tag.

Talked about how they are on a break away chain so if caught on something it will break away and not choke you. He also said that they are normally worn on a shoe lace tucked in.

He breaks up (crying) while talking about Laura.

Talking about his dog…teary again

Mr. Martin is now testifying he got one of his German Shepherds back, of the two Joan took, when Mr. Buckner called him, the dog had lost half his body weight and had a broken leg. The Vet stated to Kit it was horrible abuse.

From what he’s saying, he was somewhat buddies with Cal.

He said Cal said Kit could shoot in backyard. Said Cal wanted to get a conceal carry class going.

…and now he is getting into Joan…

Talking about the fight when he said he wanted a divorce. Then talking about all the guns they had (yikes, I’m not a gun person!)
