" There was also a tan and green blanket and a Blue Star Transportation band #0271668 located 20 feet from the body."

This is interesting to me. Located 20 feet on land or in the water? They must feel it has something to do with him but I'm having trouble linking it.

@MadMcGoo The button is VERY mysterious to me...I can't for the life of me figure out what it could be. I understand needing to take a break from his case for sure.

Is the blue star transportation band a ring?

Blue star transportation is a trucking company. It goes with the Semi chains and jack

I see that they are a company, I just can’t picture what the piece would look like tho. And Service has been stupid for me today cuz we had a snow storm from last night till a couple hours ago. NamUs isn’t really helping with the photos

My husband says it’s either a ratchet strap or a giant rubber band. No picture makes it difficult

NamUs says he was fully clothed but they didn’t provide any of his actual clothes besides that button and no fear shirt. I’m wondering if the rest got destroyed? It’s weird cuz NamUs has shown clothing in worse condition before

I'm pretty sure it depends on where the UID was found and whether the local LE adds it.

Which Blue Star Transportation are you looking at? I'm seeing a bunch from all over the country.

LE or the medical examiner's office usually decides about what pictures to show based on what they think will be most likely to produce an identification, which in turn usually means presenting information in a way that the UID's friends or relatives will recognize it. Sometimes they think showing the actual clothing will do the job best, and sometimes as in this case they use new versions of the old clothing .

Sometimes the reason for not showing clothing is that the clothing includes marks from gunshots or other injuries or evidence that they don't want made public.

There are probably other reasons as well, but those are ones I remember from other cases.

I couldn’t make heads or tails of BST when I was searching. I know Illinois, South Carolina and Arizona? maybe, came up in a lot of the searches, but I got the impression it was something similar to Greyhound buses?

For blue star transportation when I search pops up as: busses, trucking, roll off dump trucks, boats that transport goods etc, and a marine stuff, so I’ve been having trouble finding the right “blue star transportation” :/

That's the one in Michigan.

There's a BlueStar in Kentucky, but I think it's logistics rather than transportation, and probably fairly new: About BlueStar - BlueStar

This one wasn't around in 1999: https://www.linkedin.com/company/blue-star-transportation-inc

Two in Illinois--not the same company; they have different USDOT numbers:
Blue Star Transportation, Inc. USDOT 2946783 - Mt Prospect, Illinois Trucking Company
Bluestar Services LLC USDOT 1947663 - Romeoville, Illinois Trucking Company

There are several Blue Stars that are airport shuttle services. I presume those are franchises, probably?

IL ones are not old enough. There is one in Hebron KY, but the name is a bit off. Transportation & Logistics - BlueStar I'm sure LE has narrowed down which company ( at least I hope so). MI company has over 300o partners. The Blue Star out in Midwest- west is a franchise-type - not old enough, and one out of Houston is 1 truck established in 2018. It would help if we had a picture of this band

As fast as trucking companies come and go, it's likely that the Blue Star of this case isn't even in business any more.

If he was wearing blue star do you think he may have been possibly an employee? As usually that stuff goes out to employees. And also, forgive me as I can never find any info on the interweb for this John Doe’s case, is COD/MOD known?

True- and many are absorbed into a bigger company. I am going to reach out and see if there's a picture of this band- and if they identified the company. A smaller company would not pay to have their name and ID# woven into the band

According to The Doe Network, cause is unknown and manner is homicide..

Expensive dental work and cheap tennis shoes. I wish we knew if they were tie or Velcro closure: could help with age estimate.
