"Hopkinsville Police are investigating the apparent murder of a Hopkinsville woman. According to Hopkinsville Police, officers were initially called out to the report of a woman who had been found unresponsive in Apartment 45-E, at the Pennyrile Village Apartments, on Bassett Avenue. Police then found the body of 53-year old Faye Springfield-Wadlington. Through their investigation police determined that Springfield-Wadlington likely died sometime between 2:00pm and 7:00pm Tuesday. Public Information Officer Paul Ray spoke Wednesday morning with the News Edge about the status of the investigation."

"Autopsy results have been returned in the death of a Hopkinsville woman whose body was found Tuesday evening in an apartment at Pennyrile Village Apartments. Christian County Coroner Doris Lamb tells the News Edge that 53-year old Faye Springfield Wadlington died as a result of multiple stab wounds and being strangled. The autopsy was conducted Wednesday at the Regional Medical Examiner's Office, in Madisonville.

Springfield-Waddlington was found face down and unresponsive around 7:00 Tuesday evening in Apartment 45-E, at Pennyrile Village Apartments, on Bassett Avenue. Police believe that she was killed sometime between 2:00pm and 7:00pm. As of this time, Hopkinsville Police have not reported any suspects in connection with the murder."
