And “hills and hollers”, looks like.So much forest around that area.

Those are made by direct deposit into a bank account. She would probably have a family member as an alternative on her account. To pay bills and make purchases for her. This is what my Mom did with my sister. Makes things much simpler when one person is less than mobile or is in long term care.I have a gut feeling LE has an alert on Frances' SSI checks and who has access to them and that'll be the break in the case.
Anecdotal, but I've read online posts from medical staff that lament families who keep elderly loved ones in long-term care homes or hospitals to keep the SSI checks coming in. Lots of elderly people getting their ribs broken having chest compressions done when, if they were able to voice their wishes, would like to be DNR. A variation of Daughter from California Syndrome. Those are made by direct deposit into a bank account. She would probably have a family member as an alternative on her account. I'm glad you checked. I've been concerned - and sad - about this poor lady since the case first appeared. Given her health conditions, it doesn't seem reasonable to believe she just got into someone's (unknown) car and rode off happily into the sunset, and that no one need be worried about lack of contact...Bumping.
I was unable to find an update.
Anecdotal also, but I promise you that the monthly fees at a long-term care home or hospital cost more than a social security check. Do I think someone had something to gain by this woman's death? Yes, but they were not keeping her social security check. I don't understand how the daughter hasn't been brought up on charges.Anecdotal, but I've read online posts from medical staff that lament families who keep elderly loved ones in long-term care homes or hospitals to keep the SSI checks coming in. Good point indeed. Long term care, if not covered by medicare, FAR exceeds a SS check. My Dad went into assisted living after years of having a full time home health aide (his choice, he dind't want to live with us in Chicago.) was $6000+ a month amd medicare didn't cover it as he wasn't bedridden, he just could be left on his own for his own safety. He lived to be 102, spry with just minor dementia, but the cost out of pocket was in the six figures after his modest house sold. I happily paid it, he was safe and happy, but not every one can, and some just don't WANT to. BUT, given her health issues which seemed serious, I don't see why in her case medicare wouldn't cover her expenses.Anecdotal also, but I promise you that the monthly fees at a long-term care home or hospital cost more than a social security check. In IL even if the long term care resident has been approved for LTC Medicaid to cover costs of care the social security and all other monthly income must be paid to the facility and then Medicaid kicks in to cover the remainder of the month's fees.Good point indeed.
