That eyebrow arch and direction is spot on. Not to mention chin and nose.

Has anyone pushed on this one?

The links to articles no longer work so no longer any extra info. I know it was mentioned there was a time issue. I don't agree. She went missing in 81. I don't think anyone knows from where or even when. I think she was pretty street smart and could have made it another 4 years on her own. Not surprised she didn't contact anyone. I believe she would have felt pretty unwanted and alone. She is wearing a necklace in one of the pics but I can't tell what it is. The height bothers me but I kinda wonder if her height was guessed due to her constant movements.
Doe shows no dental/DNA. NamUs shows both available. My assumption is NamUs is accurate and she's an auto rule out?

If I remember correctly, the rule-outs on NamUS are people that have been submitted to NamUS and checked out by them. People that were ruled out by other agencies (i.e. local/state police) aren't necessarily on their ruled-out list. I heard that somewhere/sometime on WS, but don't remember how long ago or what thread was in question. And I don't think that a UID with DNA and a MP with DNA are necessarily automatically checked. I think that somebody has to suggest the particular missing person with the particular remains.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that's how they work. She does look a lot like "Super Woman" from Gray, though the age and height are a bit off. But if she grew taller and "aged" more quickly after she went missing... Who knows?

News article: Accounts from a man who investigated the case in 1985, a photograph of the refrigerator and more:

Thank you for the link, just posting photo here in case link times out.

2 passerbyers first found the fridge on the side of Highway 25E in Kentucky.

That fridge does look quite huge.

By the way her Namus was amended yesterday and new post mortem photo of her face was added! Despite very short haircut and a bit chubby look of the face in that photo, she looks quite young, maybe early 20s up to 30. https://identifyus.org/cases/82

I agree that the refrigerator does look quite huge. I wonder if it could be a commercial size refrigerator that would be used at a restaurant.

It is my understanding from the recent news article that the refrigerator was found on the shoulder of U.S. Route 25E.

It is also my understanding from Doe Network that the victim was estimated to have been deceased from one to four days prior and that Namus had estimated the victim to have been deceased for an undetermined number of days.

I’m thinking that if the refrigerator indeed was on the shoulder of U.S. Route 25E, it likely couldn’t have been on the shoulder very long.

U.S. Route 25E is a major main highway in Knox County, Kentucky that has lots of traffic day and night on that highway.

I would think a big commercial size refrigerator on the side of a main busy highway would be quite noticeable by motorists driving by.

The question here is did the refrigerator fell off of a moving vehicle or was it simply taken or pushed off from a stopped vehicle. I wonder if there was any damage or dents on the refrigerator.

My current thinking is if there were lots of traffic on the U.S. Route 25E highway, the victim had to be put into the refrigerator at another location.

I don’t think a killer would take the risk of being seen putting a victim into a refrigerator along the side of a busy highway where the refrigerator was found.

I think they added another post mortem photo on Namus, or maybe it’s just new to me. It’s different from the one posted on this thread.

We have a very strong possible for TRHITR. Her name is Espy Regina Black Pilgrim. DOB 25-Dec-1956.

Espy Regina Black Pilgrim.jpg

Her sister in law (who is from North Carolina), just contacted the Unidentified And Unclaimed People In The 1930- 2017 facebook page, indicating that she thinks Espy Regina is TRHITR. By my eye, I'd say she appears to be right.

I would say so.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up when seeing Pilgrim's photo and that her sister in law (and presumably Regina too) is from North Carolina.... "Some reports had it that she had been asking for a ride to North Carolina over a CB radio".

It was my impression that you able to open new thread only after 50 posts on the forum. At least I could not prior to that.

:heartbeat: That has to be her, I'm pretty skeptical about a lot of comparisons, but that has to be her. I am so glad she can (hopefully) get her name back.

  • #158
I think it is a very close match.

Al k, Well maybe so. But i already started one last week

It has to be Espy, the resemblance is crazy. Now we just have to be patient and wait for DNA test results.
