On June 28, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office issued a missing persons alert, requesting assistance locating 53-year-old Kathryn B. Pipitone.

Kathryn had been last seen at approximately 7 a.m. that day in the area of Los Amigos/Aurora One Stop on US HWY 68 E.

She is described as a white female who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 95 pounds, with dark brown hair with spots of gray on top.

Her Facebook, last updated 2022. Her cat "Vincent" in one post looks like the cat she is holding in the missing photo. Log into Facebook (Stout-Miceli is also listed as a name in addition to Kathryn Beth Pipitone).

… (friend) and Pipitone met in Arizona. She said they were both in the goth scene, and Pipitone used to model for an alternative store there.

"She was so beautiful. She used to be a model

A news update. I can't help but notice the marked change in her appearance in the last few years based on these and her FB photos,. It is stated she can't walk unassisted or without a medical device. and friends have stated she has been disabled several years. To me that makes it seem unlikely she would have traveled without assistance.

Sadly, Kathryn has been found deceased in the crawlspace of her home.

August 26, 2025

On Aug. 26, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office announced that the search for her had come to an end when forensic analysis confirmed human remains were those of Pipitone.

Marshall County Coroner Kenny Pratt told FOX 56 that her body was found on Monday inside the crawlspace of her home.

Something needs to change with how states handle missing person cases. Too many people go missing and family is involved. She was down there for over a month! So sad.

Based on the information they had at the time, the family told LE that she may have gone out of state with a male. Unfortunately, that likely redirected the focus of the initial away from the main part of her home of the property immediately adjacent. I'm just glad they found her.

What is the crawl space?

What is the crawl space?
A crawl space is a sort of empty space underneath a house. I think it's so you can access pipes and stuff from under the house. I think it's called a crawl space because it's only big enough to crawl in.

ETA: I think it's there so you can access pipes and stuff underneath your house.

from back in august;
Pratt [county coroner] said the medical examiner has not released a full report, so an official cause of death has not been determined yet.
“We're still waiting to gather all the information until we get all our forensic analysis back. It's incomplete,” Pratt said. “Marshall County Sheriff's Office is still conducting their investigation. We're still conducting our investigation. The medical examiner is waiting on some things, too. Once they get all their information back, then I'll sit down and determine the cause of death.”

Nothing since then in MSM :/ If they are waiting on toxicology, that might take awhile.

But if she was (as stated/linked upthread by @GraceG) physically disabled and couldn’t walk unaided, the likelihood seems rather low that she would be able to access the crawlspace under her home without any assistance (although, if perhaps her cat had gotten out or became lost, I could imagine a determined pet owner mustering unusual strength in an effort to find their companion animal, so if she thought Vincent had gotten stuck under the house, maybe she did somehow get into that crawlspace).

I just hope her unfortunate death was not at the hands of family members (and that their initial report to LE about her having possibly skipped town with some anonymous man was an honest mistake, and not an effort to intentionally misdirect searchers/investigators). I get nervous about this possibility when a missing or deceased person has significant physical or intellectual limitations that make others view their existence as a “burden”—heaven knows there are far too many threads on WS where frustrated/greedy family members do play a role in their disabled loved ones’ demises.
