This isn't really that important to her case, but I found it really, really strange that I know of this case because I saw a story on a Louisville news website (it was actually the story linked in the first post). For news from Kentucky in general (i.e. stuff from Eastern or even far Western KY) it is much more likely to be found on the Lexington stations. Louisville media tends to mainly concentrate on Jefferson County and sometimes neighboring ones. I'm not sure why that's the case, but it just seems to be that way. I guess Louisville just might be a little bit more stuck up or self-concerned than Lexington.

But I didn't see any mention of her when looking through the Lexington headlines. I found that there is a story on WTVQ/36 when I went around to the individual Lexington news websites and searched for her name. And that story has even fewer details than the WAVE-3 one. There wasn't much that came up on Google when I tried, but that's where I saw that she had this WS thread.

I wonder about the timing and circumstances of all of this. She was last seen Sunday (12/15) afternoon and was reported missing that day at 4-pm. Does she have some kind of medical condition or is she involved in a volatile relationship? Did she have kids that she didn't pick up or strangely not show up to work? It seems like she was reported missing very swiftly. Especially for a young adult, who can basically just do whatever they want without letting anybody know all of the intricate details (if any specifics at all) about their plans.
And was she last seen at someone's house? I dont think it was her home. She is said to be from London. Where she went missing is considered East Bernstadt (at least by zip code). Or was she literally walking alongside KY-1228? Was she wandering around in the woods? What's "...off KY-1228" really mean? More details will hopefully be released.

Laurel County (Corbin and London are its biggest towns) isn't far down I-75 or US-25 from Lexington at all and there are always stories about Laurel County on the Lexington news (but rarely if ever in the Louisville news). Those stories about LC (especially the obnoxious people that comment on them) are usually kind of making fun of Laurel County and/or its residents.
There must be a lot of drugs there. I-75 is a major artery of the "Percocet/pill Pipeline" connecting Florida's many older retirees (i.e. their many pain clinics) north to the Canadian border. Plus there drugged-up (or sober) people that do stupid things - at least based on those many news stories. I think Lexington views it as kind of like Kentucky's "Florida" (i.e. where far-out/crazy things happen and happen fairly often). One of the only people I actually know of from that county got multiple DUI's when living there - all while "driving" a lawnmower, both on the road and when mowing their own yard. I just checked to see if I could find any updates (I didn't) and saw a story where somebody woke up to find somebody had broken into their house and was in their kitchen making sandwiches.

I still can't get over how the Louisville news got her story first. It's definitely not close to where she went missing and I didn't see that she had any kind of connection to Louisville. And Lexington's just a few counties north of there.

The road (KY-1228) is in the very rural north end of the county and it basically ends when it gets to a big hill that the Rockcastle River loops around. So it's not even a road that really goes anywhere and most/all traffic would probably just be the people that live on it.
The closest town (albeit a tiny one) looks to be Livingston, across the river in southern Rockcastle County. It's a pretty rugged area, but not what I'd consider "the mountains" - it might be considered the "foothills." Some friends of mine from high school would actually drive all the way there (≈120 miles) to ride around on their 4-wheelers. A lot of that area is part of Daniel Boone National Forest, so it's basically a bunch of trees and hills in every direction you look.

Sorry for this post being so disorganized/rambling. Keyboard's broken so I'm using the "click the letters on the fake keyboard that covers ¼ of the screen" and it's hard to type, let alone edit it once it's typed.
