I'm wondering if Dunlap has done this type of thing before and gotten away with it. I'll bet he has at least peeped or raped previously. He is 35, not exactly a kid.

Yes it does feel strange to think he has lived a "normal" life then all of a sudden plans to attack a whole entire family and carries it out. From what I read, it appears he planned this for at least a week or longer. I really can't understand someone that has children being able to kill someone else's children. Especially someone without a violent past.

I wonder why he killed the kids? They weren't home when he raped and stabbed their mother. Why didn't he just leave after he did what he did to the mother? He could have even set the house on fire if that is what he wanted to do...before they came home. He killed the kids because he wanted to kill them for some reason. This guy has to get the death penalty or else be placed in general population when he goes to prison. That might even be better :furious: Those cons would make his life pure hell.

The kids may have been killed because he was worried they could identify him. From what I understand, the kids came home (from school) and saw him raping their mom. I also wonder if he sexually assaulted any of the children? He had threatened the mom w/ "raping her daughter or herself". My guess is the kids were killed so that they could not i.d. him to authorities.

I am just glad this child murdering 🤬🤬🤬 is in custody and will pay for what he has done. LE's work in this case was excellent.
GB the Mother and the extended family as well.

I think I read that he asked her, "when do your children get home?" That made me wonder if he didn't wait on them. I also wondered if he didn't rape the girls. This was just a senseless attack. He didn't go there just to rape the Mother because he could have done that without killing anyone.

I'm with you McDraw, he knew she had two beautiful daughters and he waited for them. Pure evil.

The children's funeral is today @ 2 @ the high school. The news said that Kristy will be there. I'm glad she's well enough... I'll be praying for her, the children's family, and swift justice.

I'm glad the Mother is well enough to go to their funerals. Thanks for the update. This family will be in my prayers.

From WKYT.com:
"Police say they found a knife covered in blood at Dunlap's home."

I see it much less here than in other places, but I think everyone should remember that this man may be innocent.
LE was under a lot of pressure to make an arrest as soon as possible, I'm not saying they did but it is entirely possible that they acted prematurely, due to the pressure to act quickly.
I am trying to think back and as best as I can remember, I don't know of a single case of a rapist waiting for more people to come to the scene of the crime in order to kill them.

Just based on what has been released, I don't see why they are holding this man in custody. Unless I am mistaken, the head detective testified that the surviving victim, in a photograph lineup, in the hospital, I would guess in a sedated state, only said that looks like him, and only after using her hand to block off part of the photograph.

I'm no lawyer, but why aren't they screaming from the rooftops the results of the DNA testing, in my mind the DNA means a lot.

I also think WKYT got it wrong, I have read in several other articles that police found a paring knife in the trash, WKYT is the only source that is claiming it was covered in blood.

E10, LE usually has more info and evidence than what is released in the media.

Also add to the laundry list below, the DNA left behind from the rape. Can't find the statement at the moment. But Dunlap told a friend of his to provide an alibi. Imo, Dunlap all but got caught in the act.

http://www.kentucky.com/471/story/566977.html

(snip)
A man who stopped by the house during the attack told police a champagne-colored SUV was parked in the driveway and gave a partial license plate. The witness knocked on the door, but heard nothing and there was no answer. Police linked the car to Dunlap.
Police found what appeared to be dried blood on the door handle and seat belt in Dunlap's vehicle, Jones said. In Dunlap's home, they discovered white Reebok tennis shoes with what appeared to be blood and ash on the sole, as well as two guns, zipties, rope and four blue DirectTV polos, authorities said.

Duh, I'm short a few braincells this morning. I deleted the previously posted comment in this spot because as others pointed out, it has nothing to do with this case whatsoever!

SuziQ,

I like that user name.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that LE has a lot more undisclosed evidence. I am just going off of the evidence that was reportedly told to the Judge, who is up for re-election, in the hearing where he, the Judge, sent this case to a Grand Jury.

I also have a hard time believing that any 18 year old man(child), could have knocked on the door and not heard any sounds related to the violent attack taking place inside.

I also have a hard time with that same witness taking note of even a portion of a license plate number. Which, from what I have been able to find out, is the same three letters that virtually every vehicle in that county has on it's license plate. It is my understanding that those reported letters identify which county a vehicle is registered in.

Hey SuziQ, I appreciate your opinions.

Thank You

I failed to say that I also respect your opinions.

I just re-read some earlier posts and I would also like to add that several on-line reports state the the perpetrator, after the rape, asked the mother what time her children would get home. To me, this would rule out him being "caught in the act"
