Search for missing Harrison County man called off, barring new leads

The search for a missing Harrison County man has been called off for now.

[...]

Tuesday nine boats and four ground crew were dispatched to search for Hudgins ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, but to no avail. And without any new leads, crews say they won’t go back to the river tomorrow.

“Oh, it's devastating,” said Re’Jeana Craft of Harrison County Search and Rescue. “Every time we're on the water searching for someone it really hurts us.”

Cadaver dogs previously picked up credible scents that narrowed the search to an area the size of a football field, but Hudgins is still considered a missing person.

Family Of Missing Man Looks For Answers
Thanksgiving made nine days that Hudgins had been missing. While there was no active search on the holiday, [MH] said he won’t stop looking for his son.

Search and rescue teams have looked along the river and the area surrounding it since Monday. They took a break for the holiday and will be back out Friday.

[MH] fears that his son may be dead.

“This is the last place he’s seen. I figure he’s in the river or somebody picked him up and took him off somewhere,” he said.

'I have no hope of him being alive': Cynthiana father fears the worst in son's disappearance
[...]
"I've seen him stay out a night, maybe two but I always knew where he was at. He'd call me or I'd call him," Mike Hudgins, Kelly's father, said. "Last time I seen him it was on a Tuesday night when he left here."

[...]

Months later, search and rescue crews said they have exhausted all search areas. The police department said it has followed every lead and has persons of interest. Right now, police don't have anything indicating foul play.

Mike said, "Someone's killed him. I'm going to try to find his body. I have no hope of him being alive, okay? I have no hope at all. I wish I did. I have no hope of him being alive anymore."

Reward For Information Increased In Case Of Missing Cynthiana Man
Micheal Hudgins tells LEX 18 that the reward for information leading to Kelly’s whereabouts has been raised from $10k to $25k because he believes that someone out there knows something.

“That’s the trouble with the people that’s involved with my son who is missing, they’re lying!” Hudgins told LEX 18. “They can write me a letter, they can telephone me, or they can draw me a map where my son’s at. I’ll go find him.”
