Found Safe KY - Leoni Unzicker, 75, Shelby County, 4 July 2018 *Golden alert*

Leoni Unzicker, 75, was last seen Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. in the 9400 block of Shelbyville Road outside of Simpsonville. That is a somewhat remote area, with houses and farms nearby, but no businesses.
Unzicker is a white woman with grey hair who is 5'0" and weighs 100 pounds.

Police said she is believed to be on foot.

The area where she was last seen is west of downtown Simpsonville, near the Shelby County/Jefferson County line.

Authorities believe Unzicker walked off from the home in the 9400-block Shelbyville Road (U.S. 60) and was on foot. The home is across the highway from Colt Run Road and between Brooks Lane and Colonial Oaks Lane.

Authorities suspend search for missing elderly woman in Shelby County

"The heat is not good, and she’s been gone since midday yesterday," said Det. Mark Moore of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. "If someone in the listening audience has seen her -- even it it's not recently, even if it's yesterday -- please contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office."

Leoni Unzicker was found by a citizen on horseback Friday morning at the north end of Brooks Lane off U.S. 60, more than a mile from her home.

“She is in awesome spirits. She is on her way to the hospital to be checked out just from being out for nearly 48 hours. She doesn’t want to go to the hospital – she ‘doesn’t need to,’ is what she says,” Shelby County Detective Mark Moore said. “She’s talkative and seems fine, so they’re taking her to the hospital to be checked out just to be precautionary.”
