Search and rescue crews looking for missing camper in Daniel Boone National Forest

Search and rescue teams are out looking for a camper who is apparently lost in Daniel Boone National Forest.

The missing man, Leslie (last name not released), sent his mother a message Tuesday night saying he was lost and trying to find his vehicle.

Leslie is 5'7" and weighs 215 pounds. He has blue eyes, brown hair and a large circular tattoo on his right shoulder.

Crews from Wolfe, Powell and Meinifee Counties are out searching the area along Bison Way, Indian Stair Steps and Frogs Head. They found Leslie's campsite at the top of Frogs Head.

MISSING PERSON ALERT: Teams from Wolfe, Powell & Menifee County are currently searching the area along Bison Way, Indian Stair Steps and Frogs Head for the individual shown in the attached photo. His name is Leslie . He is 5'7" 215lbs and has a large circular tattoo on his right shoulder.He has Blue eyes and brown hair. A message was received by his mother last night at approx 9:30 pm stating he was lost and trying to find his vehicle. His campsite has been found at the top of Frogs Head. Any one in the area that sees this individual, please call 911 to notify authorities.

We also ask that visitors please park away from the Bison Way trail head to allow rescue teams access to the trail head. Thank you.

An interesting post in the last few hours. Hope he’s okay, and glad the search in the national forest has been unimpeded. Sometimes there are issues with that.

This is the 3rd time someone has been lost on the mountain trails in the last week. All experienced campers. Hope they find him soon!

Day two of search for missing camper continues
Crews continue their search for a missing northern Kentucky man in the Red River Gorge.

This is the second day of the search for 29-year-old Leslie Reynolds. Four teams were searching on Wednesday and the National Guard flew a helicopter to help with the search.

Crews from three additional counties came in as reinforcement on Thursday.

So good to hear that there are now so many search crews involved, hopefully Leslie stays in one place to wait for them, and hopefully he isn't injured or something...

'All that we can do is sit here and pray': Missing hiker's family remains hopeful as search hits third day
Les Reynolds’ family say they’re trying to stay positive while rescue crews from seven counties search the thick woods surrounding the popular hiking destination.

“We want to find my cousin, and we want to find him alive,” Reynolds’ cousin Amanda Voskuhl said. “He's gonna come out of this."

Volunteers have covered a lot of ground, and got some help today from a K-9 unit. The group hit the trails, trying to pick up a scent.

The Powell County Coroner says a body was found in the Menifee County portion of the area.

The body has not yet been identified, but officials there have been conducting a search in the area for Leslie Reynolds.
