LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The discovery of human remains in Lincoln County has prompted Kentucky State Police to launch a death investigation.

The KSP post in Richmond was contacted at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday after a water treatment plant worker discovered skeletal remains in a shallow creek.

STANFORD – Human skeletal remains were found in a creek bed off of Goshen Road in Stanford Thursday evening, according to Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Hall, of Post 7 in Richmond, confirmed Friday morning that human remains were located near the Stanford Sewer Plant Thursday evening.

“State Police was contacted in reference to human remains that were discovered on Goshen Road in a creek bed,” Hall said Friday morning.

The remains were found in Lincoln County two years ago Monday, scattered in a shallow creek bed. The Lincoln County coroner has identified those remains as being L’Acee Butcher of Stanford.
