Napier has pleaded not guilty in the July 2009 beating death of 4-year-old Nathaniel Knox. Nathaniel’s mother, Jessica Noble, already has pleaded guilty and is expected to be the key prosecution witness at Napier’s trial.

Napier’s attorneys have asked that Noble’s psychiatric, medical and social services records pertaining to her children be allowed during the trial in order to impeach her testimony.

Napier found guilty in Lincoln child's death

STANFORD — Lincoln Circuit Court jurors took 2 1⁄2 hours Thursday evening to convict Jason Napier of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal abuse in the 2009 beating death of 4-year-old Nathaniel Knox.
It took them only 10 minutes to recommend Napier serve the maximum prison time — 15 years — for the crimes.
