BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Norma Jo Brown, 33, has been missing for nearly two months, her family still hopes she'll return home. Her mother, Sharon King, last heard from her on Sept. 23. Brown was reported missing on Oct. 2. Her family is asking for help to find her. Brown was last seen with a man named Kevin Howard in Mt. Sterling. Howard has since been accused of killing a different missing person. He was arrested last month in Lexington and there was no sign of Brown.

She certainly is a chameleon.

KH and CB were indicted on Friday for crimes relating to Randy Russ. Arraignment scheduled for Dec. 5. Hopeful that these legal proceedings will provide more evidence in Norma's disappearance.

Kevin Howard, 38, and Charles Black, 55, were indicted on charges of murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, robbery and theft by unlawful taking in relation to the disappearance of Randy Russ.
Both suspects were arrested and charged in October. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 5.

Missing Bath County woman's mother pleading for information
Owingsville, KY (WKYT) - A Bath County family is missing a daughter as they gather for their Thanksgiving meal. "This is our first year without her having Thanksgiving," said Sharon King. Her daughter, 33 year-old Norma Jo Brown, went missing on September 23rd of this year. "I cried all night and all morning pleading for Norma to come home." King said the last person seen with her daughter was Kevin Howard. Howard is now in jail, accused of killing a Kentucky professor. "There's got to be somebody out there that knows something," King cried.

Update on CB and KH, Norma is mentioned but it is still the information from just after the press conference in October, IIRC.
Hopefully, if nothing else, the fact that the men plead not guilty will mean answers for Norma's family through the trial process for the murder of Randy Russ. (O/T How sad is it that the RR's family is STILL waiting for the military to confirm through DNA and dental records that the body found Oct. 3rd is actually RR. I feel horrible for them that they haven't yet laid their loved one to rest).
There are no new media updates on Norma that I have seen. :/

Charles Black and Kevin Howard pled not guilty in a Flemingsburg courtroom on Friday to charges of murder, kidnapping and robbery in the case of missing University of Cincinnati professor Randall Russ.

. . .

Within hours of the Kentucky State Police's press conference about Black [in October], another family would discover their loved one, Norma Brown, who also acquainted with Black and Howard was missing too.

"I'm hoping he ain't done nothing to her because she would have called home if she could," Sharon King, Brown's mother, said.

The mother of Brown told police she hadn't seen her daughter since September. The last person she was seen with was Howard, a man now wanted for murder.

"He was a neighbor and also Norma had..I think at one time they had dated years ago so we know'd it from back then," Genie Hardin, Brown's sister, said.

I'd started a thread on a (assumed to be female) severed arm found along the Kentucky River in Henry County in late 10/2014.
Just after that, a foot (assumed to be male) was found in Carrollton, where the Kentucky River dumps into the Ohio River.

Possibly related to the arm, the dismembered remains (torso) of a murder victim were found in the Kentucky River near the Valley View Ferry. I say possibly related because the arm was found a few months ago downstream from where they recently found the torso (which was too decomposed to tell age/race/sex/etc).

I'm not sure this could be related to the missing Brown. I've read that she lived in Hillsboro and/or Salt Lick (which aren't too far apart). I'd also read that she was in Mt Sterling around the time she went missing.
Were she murdered near her home, she would likely have been dumped in the Licking River. But Mt Sterling is a county-or-so west of her home (so closer, though not super-close, to the Kentucky River).

This is a new story (with vid) about all of the different remains from a Louisville TV station:

Third human body part in three months washes ashore on Kentucky River (WLKY, Louisville, KY)
For the third time in three months, human remains have washed ashore in a remote area of Kentucky.

The latest discovery was on the Kentucky River in Jessamine County. That's where hikers found a human torso and investigators believe it's related to a homicide.

First it was a severed arm found in Henry County, then one day later, a foot washed up in Carroll County. Now a torso, possibly linked to a homicide, has been discovered.

Here is a link to the Lockport arm thread. There are other stories related to all of the remains there.

I second that RIP. That's an awful way to go. Wow. People can be so mean.

Not sure if this guy could have anything to do with Brown's disappearance, but he seemed rather "interesting" (to say the least) before I noticed that he was from Salt Lick. Brown was not "a kid in a Walmart parking lot," but...

Man accused of exposing himself in Walmart parking lot (WKYT, Lexington, KY 12/17/2014)
Morehead Police arrested 26-year-old Justin Thornton and what they say they found inside his car makes this story even more disturbing.

The arrest citation for 26-year-old Justin Thornton of Salt Lick states that the girl called police around 1 a.m. Tuesday to report a man inappropriately touching himself while exposing his genitals in the Morehead Plaza parking lot.
When police searched his car, they found two unusual items in the glove box --- a butcher knife and duct tape.

Police are continuing to investigate why Thornton was keeping those particular items with him.

He also had drug paraphernalia, but what kind of paraphernalia was never mentioned. I guess the other stuff was so crazy that they must've forgotten to mention that part. But it does say he was apparently rather drunk.

It made me think of her because he had a "rape/murder kit" with him at the time.

Missing Bath County woman's family begging for clues
It's been a difficult Christmas for a mother still waiting for answers about her missing daughter.

Norma Jo Brown has been missing for three months.

The last person she was seen with was Kevin Howard, a man accused of killing a different missing person.

Christmas has arrived. The holiday has been tough for Brown's family.

"This is the first year that she has not been here with us," said Sharon King, Brown's mother.

King believes Howard knows where her daughter is.

God bless her mother, family, and friends. I agree with Ms. King that Kevin Howard knows something.

This isn't about Norma, but is about the professor those men (suspects in Brown's case) were suspected of killing. He was also missing, but his remains were just confirmed to have been found.

Fleming County coroner identifies remains as missing professor (WKYT, Lexington, KY)

Back in October, a body was found buried in a shallow grave along Ringos Grange City Road in Fleming County. Charles Black was arrested that same day. He's charged with murder.

Lexington Police later arrested Kevin Howard, who is also charged with Russ's murder.

I was doing a search to see if anything new has been happening in the search and saw something that would be hilarious, were she not now missing/endangered.

There is a survey question on the Salt Lick Topix forum (posted 5/9/2012) that mentions Norma.

The question was "Whose the nastiest ho in Salt LICK.?http://www.topix.com/forum/city/salt-lick-ky/TSLMAEDCT5HUME6UP" with 10 choices, one of which was Norma Brown. There were only 11 votes, so the winner (by a landslide) got only four votes, and no one voted for Norma.

But the fact that she was one of the options made me wonder how "high-risk" of a lifestyle she led. Especially since she was purportedly last seen with someone involved in a murder.

I know that isn't a very "reputable" website since anybody can post anything about anything and the ones that do post there are often idiots. You can tell by the spelling/grammar mistakes (and screennames) that dominate the site.

There's also a question about Kevin Howard, the man Norma was allegedly last seen with ("Anyone know a low life named Kevin Howard?").
...if its the one who use to work at family dollar. then you are looking for trash cant keep his hands off the girls and all they do is laugh at him. he is pretty stupid and doesnt know he is just a joke.....
