Missing teen remembered in Covington

On Sunday, family and friends gathered at Devou Park in Covington to remember Paige Johnson. The memorial was held near a tree that was planted for Paige.

Today marks 9 years since Paige was reported missing. Where is she? Why has a suspect not been named? Was she involved in something that she shouldn't have been? Did Jacob Bumpass, a known criminal, and the last person known to have seen her, do something to her? What about the message to her sister's facebook that night? Could it have meant nothing, as her sister stated in one interview? Could it have meant that Paige had found out her boyfriend was cheating, as she stated in another interview? Is it possible that Paige's disappearance is related to the disappearance of other women in the surrounding area? Will anyone ever come forward so that family and friends, and the town, can have the closure they need?

Monday Marks Nine Years Since Paige Johnson Disappeared

Today is the ninth anniversary of one of the tri-state's most-vexing missing persons cases.

Paige Johnson's family held a vigil in Covington on Sunday to remember her and demand closure.

She would be 26-years-old now.

An investigator from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children will take the case next year after Covington Police exhausted all their leads.

Paige Johnson’s family is hoping a new podcast episode about their missing loved one and renewed efforts by police will spark new leads.

Police say a friend claimed he dropped Johnson off in Covington after they both attended a party.

“Actually a really awful, dodgy corner,” Franks said, “but his phone never pinged there. It pinged in East Fork Lake, so we have some interest going on there.”
