Hi, I found this thread while searching for any available information regarding Aaron and the case. I’m his daughter and I’ve been helping my aunt Heather in trying to figure out how to get more attention on the case and get closure. There have been a few updates for the case.
Date of last contact: 01/07/2002
Location last seen: Flaxpatch Hollow, Littcarr, KY
Triplett was last seen on January 7, 2002 in the area of Flaxpatch Road (Hollow), Littcarr, Kentucky in Knott County. His truck was discovered in a parking lot of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. As of November 2002 authorities do suspect foul play.
No suspect was identified. According to the Case file, a witness did come forward in 2002, but the family was not informed and later found out this information in 2023. An interview and a polygraph test were conducted, but authorities did not pursue any leads the information may have given them. Witness identified the person who family members already suspected.
Every few years a new detective gets the case, they make minimal effort in actually trying to follow leads and close the case, and nothing is done. A new detective got the case in 2023. He has stated he will try to follow up, but that their department has a lot of cases and limited resources. He has not been very communicative.
It has been 22 years and our family just want to have closure. The person suspected by the family is dead, and the witness who came forward is as well. Even though true justice may not be possible, just recovering Aaron’s remains will help the family begin to heal.
Aaron was a real person who had family and friends who loved him. His life was taken from him at such a young age. He deserves to be found.
