LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing 16 year-old juvenile female named Ruth Ellen Wailgum, who is from Grand Rivers, Kentucky.


She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has purple and red shoulder length hair and green eyes.

No, she is still missing - it's best to go by what the police are saying; in this regard, when I am doing a search and I see the 'Missing' poster still displayed, I call that specific agency to ensure they are still engaged in looking for the subject (I never go by what people are saying on social media since it's just too unreliable). If their 'Missing' poster is down, then you know she was probably found (again, I call the station or investigator for verification).

I have been in contact with her mom as of a few hours ago; also, my cousin is her mom's good friend. I also just reached out to her mom now to find out more information that would be helpful to the investigation.

At least in this case the possible sighting certainly provides hope!

Ruth went missing sometime late Tuesday night into early Thursday morning (September 26th to the 27th, 2017).

Sadly, they were discussing something that happened in 2016 - it is completely unrelated to her disappearance now, and no, like I had mentioned previously - she has not been found. :sigh:

So sorry to hear that she is missing. Was very hopeful with the comment. We typically post as I did, then continue to look for news to confirm. Has the family had any leads?

Hi- there is a pic posted on the main screen of the boyfriend or ex, not sure, Facebook page. It was posted Sept 30. Look over his left shoulder between he and the other boy. Looks like sweet girl... But not sure. Has on a ballcap. Short hair like hers. It's hard to see. Make it larger. Worth a look. Of course, could be an old pic but thought I would mention it.

MISSING LIVINGSTON COUNTY JUVENILE , RUTH WAILGUM HAS BEEN LOCATED AND IS SAFE. Miss Wailgum was located today near Mobile Alabama. Miss Wailgum is currently being held in Alabama Child Advocate Care.
Miss Wailgum was in the company of Alexander K. Wood (23yoa) of big Sandy TN. Mr. Wood was charged with Custodial Interference and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree. Mr. Wood will be extradited to Kentucky. We would like to the the numerous police agencies in Tennesse and Alabama as well at the United States Marshal's Service for their assistance during this investigation. This case was brought to a successful close by the cooperation of all agencies involved.
