Criminal defense attorney Mark Krumbein said he's looking at the relationship between Hubers and her boyfriend, Ryan Poston.


"I think that you would try to show that something happened in the relationship that she could legitimately say that she had post traumatic stress disorder and in her mind, she felt like if she didn't kill him in that moment, that she would be harmed or killed herself," he said.

It's an almost laughable defense because if Ryan was abusive, her parents would have known it and been trying to get her away from him. All she had to do was take out an order of protection. He was an attorney, he would have had no choice but to comply.

Medical records: Court records indicate both Poston and Hubers' medical histories will be fair game, including prescription medications, toxicology reports and mental health histories. Both sides plan to call expert witnesses.

I'm sure they will. That seems to be the answer these days for all the abusive girlfriends who kill their victim.

I think Ryan should have done that too... A restraining order at least. Just to keep her away. If she came to the condo all he had to do was keep the door closed and call police. These guys really underestimate these crazy women who won't let go.
Hindsight is always 20/20 though..isn't it? So Sad because by then it's always too late.

Hubers' mother testified about the couple's relationship as she understood it. She said Poston was somewhat scary. She saw at least two loaded guns in his condo. "I was almost frightened for Shayna. He was almost 30, she was 19. His behavior, he was either doped up..." The prosecution objected to that statement and the judge replied that it was sustained.

"She was sick. She was in pain. There was fear in her voice," Sharon Hubers testified Monday.

Sharon Hubers was so worried that she got into her car and drove nearly two hours in the middle of the night to Ryan Poston's Highland Heights condominium, where her daughter had spent the night...

Can't find a link to the interrogation. I saw it on NG and DrD shows.

Yes, singing "like people do" when in interrogation after killing someone they supposedly loved. :facepalm:
Nice voice, terrible crime.

No head stands or trash digging though. She offered an incredible amount of info without being asked, and did some enactments of how she shot him.

I'd like to see the whole interrogation, but don't know if we can find it.
