Maybe their expert wasn't paid to take that into consideration? At least the prosecutor got him to admit that Ryan could've been sitting in the chair and fell forward onto the table after the first shot.

This friend's testimony carries a lot of weight. There's more than a hint of premeditation in all Shayna said and did before she shot Ryan. There's not much to support her being abused either. After the Arias trial, it's refreshing that this trial is going along at a fast pace and we might have a verdict by the end of this week.

I've taken Xanax, it's an anti-anxiety drug. When you're not used to it, it can put you to sleep. I'm not sure about Adderall. Now I understand what Dr. Drew was saying, they sort of counter-act each other.

But it's not totally strange. I know a few people on both. Adderal is for ADD. A lot of adults with ADD will also have anxiety disorders. Or trouble sleeping because the ADD brain refuses to shut up and go to sleep.

It really isn't that abnormal. Toxicology expert, okay. What about an actual clinical psychiatrist? I don't think they would find the combination strange at all.

Eta: Though Dr. Drew is an addiction specialist, he's board certified internal medicine. Entertaining, intelligent - not a clinical psych, though.

The defense is the one who called the friend to the stand. What were they thinking? This text was 11 days before she murdered Ryan.

"When I go to the shooting range with Ryan tonite I want to turn around, shoot and kill him and play like it's an accident," Hubers texted.

The trial resumes at 9 a.m. in Campbell Circuit Court. The jury could receive the case as early as Thursday.

Can you imagine her taking the stand and the Prosecutor playing the 911 tape where she says after the first 2 shots he was twitching and she knew he was going to die so she just kept shooting until he was dead. Then the dispatcher says "Instead of calling 911 after shooting him, you kept shooting him until you were sure he was dead??" Then her reply is yes, that's what she did, because it bothered HER so much to see him twitching. How is she going to explain that away??

And then during the interrogation when she laughs and says she gave him the nose job he always wanted. How's she going to explain that statement to the jury?

Plus, so many more statements during the 911 call and during the interrogation.

Lawdy lawdy lawdy. I wouldn't take the stand if I were her. Crying isn't going to help her and there's no explanation for the things she said that's going to sway the jury to believe her or have any sympathy for her. I have a feeling they would just dislike her more if she starts trying to explain herself with a bunch of phoney baloney. JMO

I'm thinking she's toast.

Ughh. I've said it on the Anjelica thread and I'll say it here... You don't get a pass in my (bipolar) mind for being bipolar. I understand all too well the monster of mania, but it doesn't get you off the hook for murder. And I swear people don't even realize what it is and mix it up with borderline personality disorder (more likely comorbidity with narcissistic personality disorder). But I guess somebody has to graduate last in their class in grad school.

I want to know if she's been diagnosed before, if not, was this a formal evaluation for the defense? Or just guessing based on what the doc was told?

She looks crazy, but I think she's so glib because she still genuinely believes she's going to walk.

A psychologist testified Wednesday, April 22, in the murder trial of Shayna Hubers. He testified to some psychological and emotional issues she had before and after shooting boyfriend Ryan Poston to death in his Highland Heights condo. The question will be for the jurors, is she telling the truth about shooting Poston in self-defense.
