They’ve been getting food and lodging donated to them. They were asking for monetary donations at one point bc transportation costs were high. I don’t think they’re not staying longer bc of money issues though. I think it’s more of a time problem. It’s been down to just Toney and Pepper for a few days now bc his other volunteers had to hear back home.

They had a couple of state people out yesterday but yes, today it was just them as far as I know. My husband waited for a call all morning to ask him to come in today and the call didn't come. (That's not on Toney's part at all. This is the state emergency management org.) Instead, he got called to the eastern part of the state.

I wonder what LE saw on the bar video surveillance inside. It could be very telling of how the men acted, etc. Possible roofies, etc. Also, you would think LE could get a warrant for the guys cell records looking for panic calls that morning or GPS location pings. Surely, they could've broken 1 of them down by now.

IDK, I think one had to leave because of an unexpected death but not positive. If you check their FB out they are working on 7 cases and asking people to help financially. Toney stated he would stay until the family had an answer. This has to be very hard for anyone that does this type of thing.

I'm disappointed by the overall lack of community involvement. I reached out to some people today about doing something for the Cajun rescuers before they go home. In most other searches we've had in the area, we've had churches and civic organizations step in to provide meals, supply, and support. There has been some of that here and there this time around, but not anywhere near what I've seen in the past.
Thats amazing! Love seeing people step up and try to help. JMO but once someone has been working a case for so long it's like ground zero for a new group to come in even with shared info. It's going to be lost time and money.

I wish they would share the surveillance video they took the pics from.

Me too :( I get that feeling I had when Crystal Rogers went missing and the first round of searches yielded nothing. KY doesn’t have the most ideal terrain to search. There’s a lot of hilly wooded areas and a lot of water. This part of the year is a little easier to search that type of area since most of the leaves are gone and the brush is mostly dead but it still makes it difficult.

Also, whoever did something to her had the advantage of at least a 48 hour headstart. That doesn’t even factor in the extra time it took for LE to find and talk to the guys (if they’re responsible). I’ve mentioned it before, but you can get into a few different states and back within a 10 hour period. I can’t imagine how helpless of a feeling that would be for a victim’s family.
I’m not from the area. Do the rivers recede at all in the spring or summer months? It seems like LE has Toney searching the river, but it sounds like right now would be the best time to search land before regrowth in the quickly approaching spring.

This case makes me so sad. No matter what anyone thinks of Savannah’s choices, she is still a human being. No one deserves the level of judgment she has received. I can’t even imagine how family has been explaining her absence to her two older boys. :(

There is a TexasEquusearch Ohio/Midwest chapter and they have Savannah’s missing poster and updates on their FB page.

I don't think Savannah has been "elevated to sainthood" at all. In fact, the majority of the conversation, here and elsewhere, has spun around the choices she made that night, as well as the choices she didn't. Drug use has been speculated. Her staying out all night with children at home has been commented on. Her leaving with men she allegedly didn't know has been discussed. Her level of intoxication has been mentioned. I haven't seen anything suggesting that she's anything more than human.
Exactly

I’m not really familiar with Kentucky River. We have a boat but we usually stay on Rough River and I’ve been out on Nolin and Taylorsville lake a lot. All three have dams so they have winter pools and summer pools. The water recedes when it starts getting colder and fills back up as it gets warm. It’s all controlled. I’m pretty sure Kentucky River is controlled by locks and dams as well so the levels should be down right now too. We’ve had so much rain the past couple of months though and that makes the river so much harder to search. It gets so murky and the current is quicker. I didn’t realize until a few days ago how long that river was. I’ve driven over it but that’s about it lol.

TES needs police to ask them to come...and they generally want a specific area (from LE) to be searched. As far as I know, they are not set up to come and just search an entire town or region. I can’t imagine where they should search that has not been done...jmo

I think the secrecy is good because it means the cops are doing their jobs, and hopefully building a case. I still would like to see or hear what they were all like in the bar.

I can’t either, unless they extend th search into surrounding counties. I was reading through some posts on SM and people were frustrated that they weren’t asking for volunteers to help search. I don’t think people understand how big of an undertaking it is to organize search parties full of civillians without any experience. It doesn’t take a huge amount of people to efficiently search an area.

When Crystal Rogers went missing, people would show up to volunteer and it got to a point where it was too much. Instead of asking for bodies to help search, they were asking for donations like water, bug spray, snacks, etc. The majority of the searches that were held after those first couple months were put together by her family with a core group of people. They still search, 3 years later. They covered a LOT of area, including all the surrounding counties without conducting massive search parties.

Was this done in her home county?

Also searching can be dangerous, people get injured, sometimes even lost, which does not help...as well as potential trespassing issues. Not everyone is open to having people traipse across their land, no matter how pure the cause. So police can’t authorize people to search on their own, and probably don’t have the resources it would take to manage a huge search made of volunteers, imo. And again...where to search? Various counties overlap, etc, if she traveled 40 miles or so that night, and yet if she was harmed and hidden, she may have been taken in another direction entirely.

Locks 5-14 are closed on the Ky River. Boats can't navigate the entire river. Like, the Cajun Team put in at Boonesborough, that one day. Lock 10 is just above Boonesborough so they couldn't go upriver past the lock. Lock 9 is near Richmond, so they'd not be able to navigate past the Richmond Lock. They'd have to pull the boat out, and go to the next ramp, past the lock. The locks were to allow barges (and pleasure boats) the ability to safely navigate the river, where it suddenly changes.

Coming from a small town I'm surprised there hasn't been a fundraiser to raise money for CCSAR to stay longer. Especially in the areas involved with SS. It must be devastating to know SS is missing.
Absolutely! These groups work on donations and fundraisers. It's just a rumor but I'm reading Cajun Searchers are doing this search pretty much on their own dime! What does this say for the community with a missing young woman!
