My daughter had a field trip to Lex today so, afterwards, we went over to Limestone and I took some pictures. I know you all have seen pix of The Other Bar, but I walked up and down that end of Limestone and took some of the general area, including the Good Samaritan Hospital's parking garage, the housing developments (some UK, some not), and other restaurants/bars around the bar. As you can see, this is a VERY congested area. Lots of businesses right there together. It's just steps from UK's campus and there are private and university-owned apartments within walking distance-not to mention two hospitals (Chandler & Good Samaritan, which are both owned by UK). Limestone is very busy in that part of the street, too. The parking garage is on Limestone and across the street from the bar (as seen in the pictures below).

#1- standing on the corner of the cross street, looking towards the Tin Roof (bar/live music joint) and McDonalds. Parking garage is on the left across the street.
#2 Business close to The Other Bar. The hookah lounge is open until 4 am. (Showing that there ARE some area businesses that stay open later.)
#3 On Limestone looking towards downtown. At this point the congested business area ends. The Other Bar and the parking garage are behind me in the opposite direction.
#4 In addition to bars, there are other restaurants on this strip. Sav's (African cuisine) is amazing. There's also a Chipotle and a Steak n Shake. This shot was taken within a few feet of The Other Bar.
#5 Two Keys Tavern. The Other Bar is on the other side of it. You can see that it's close to the corner. From here, the parking garage is to my right.
#6 Student housing and parking garage are on right.
#7 This is a little further down, but gives you an idea of how congested this area is. Lots of bars, clubs, and specialty shops. From here, The Other Bar is a block up and on the left. Parking garage a block up on the right. You can see the garage at the top of the picture.
#8 Same position as #7. Just a wider view.
#9 Some of the specialty shops in the area. (*sniff* Paisley Peacock...)
#10 The buildings to the Other Bar's immediate left.

#11 The Other Bar on the right, the parking garage on the left.
#12 Shakespeare & Co. (the last place of employment that Savannah had on her FB profile. It's a really nice restaurant in downtown Lexington)
#13 Shop owner on Limestone giving my daughter an ice cream for free, just because. Including this because this really IS a friendly place and people are generally kind-hearted. With all the stories coming out of central KY right now, I would hate for the area to get the reputation for being overly dangerous. We're still a beautiful, southern area and most of us go out of our way to treat people with kindness.

I hope these help...

SQecial and ReBelle are still there! Yay! Hitting those on my next visit “home.”

Thank you for the pictures. Yes, Lexington is a lovely place, and Limestone was always one of my destinations when I drove to town.

There is a video today on a facebook page I don't think I can link. Commander Wade says there is no current request for his group to come to Kentucky. He would come if asked.

Yep, they're still there! And CD Central, too. Alas, Paisley Peacock is no longer there, Tolly Ho's moved locations and hasn't been the same since, and Atomic Cafe is gone. :-( Limestone is still Limestone, though. Quite a few new places have been put in and they're building some new apartments behind McDonalds so that's a good forecast for the area.

Yes, Toney Wade and his group haven't been gone that long.
The group that came after them left about 10 days ago so I suppose he's been gone 2 weeks.

He said that he’s still working on the research team & no new information or areas to search have been brought to their attention. I really think it’s going to take the guy(s) talking before this moves forward.

Thanks for the pics & descriptions @mtnlites!

ETA: He also made sure to repeat how Radar has misquoted him & it is fake news.

I think so, too. I am pretty confident that they've searched many of the obvious places that they got from her last whereabouts and where certain phones pinged. Also along the river and roadsides as just a process of elimination. At this point they're going to start needing tips to check specific places. It's kind of a needle in a haystack and, as others have pointed out, they had several hours in which they could've disposed of something (or someone). It would be difficult to know which county to even start in. Unfortunately, until someone starts talking we might not ever know. That's what's happened with Brookelyn Farthing's disappearance and it's been years without an update.

Oh wow, those are awesome, thanks for sharing those! It seems so less nefarious than the grainy surveillance videos we've seen of SS and the men leaving.

Poor SS, she went out to blow off some steam, was probably stressed to death about the upcoming DUI, was physically not up to par as usual and just generally being a 23 year old <with the added pressure of 4 small babies>.

Nothing so different than the less than wise choices of many other young women in a similar situation, and not an excuse or reason for something bad to happen to her. :(

Yeah, it's sad. I think back on choices I made when I was 10-15 years younger and I shudder sometimes. I was a travel writer based in Bosnia/Croatia/Slovenia when I was 23 and I traveled alone, sometimes months at a time. I made what I consider NOW to be dumb decisions that probably only luck itself kept me succumbing to anything nefarious. I hope to goodness my kids don't take after me in some of those respects. For SS, she's young, 4 young children, two pregnancy right on top of each other (one with twins), having recently given birth, having a recent history of what her dad called "bad decisions", a fairly recent DUI...I think she just wanted to get out and have fun with her friend. Something just went terribly wrong somewhere along the way.

And yeah, I was hoping that those pictures would help show that the area is open, fun looking, walkable, etc. That little stretch of the road has a bunch of businesses right on top of each other and it's a cool place to hang out in. At night picture live music spilling out onto some of the decks, people standing outside laughing and talking, lots of lights, cars driving by, etc. You get the occasional intoxicated person trying to make trouble and your average crazy person being, well, crazy but for the most part it's just a fun place. And the parking garage, while on the other side of the road, is still kind of in the middle of things. Depending on her state of mind at the time, she may very well have felt safe in the beginning.

This is my theory too. As to the poster who said it would be unusual for a guy in his 20s to take a girl to his parents house in the wee early morning hours...I don't think it is. A lot of 20-somethings live with their parents still because of the economy, and they usually have their own setup, maybe in the basement, where they come and go as they please.

<modsnipped>

I really am hopeful that LE is working hard on this, building their case, and keeping an eye on their suspect(s). Her friends and family need answers.

<modsnipped response to removed portion of quoted post>You’re amazing for posting and raising awareness that these Things happen when we least expect it and through no fault of our own. Sadly there are wicked humans out there. X

So, there hasn't been anyone searching for about 10 days?

Feb 16th was the last official search; TES and volunteers, nothing was found. News has dropped like a rock.
