I just came here to confirm it is not happening. We got word from the prosecutor today that until the KY Supreme Court opens things up more, we are halted. The next step is scheduling the trial, and all cases awaiting that are at a standstill bc of Covid.

I understand why this is going on, but I find it extremely irritating that the official court docket does not reflect accurately. For probably the 3rd or 4th time the docket has a status hearing listed that isn’t happening. Court TV even did a story on this upcoming status hearing. I am not sure who their source was, but potentially the official court docket. That is wrong. Again. I’ve learned to keep my expectations of progress very very low.

Thank you for confirming Marie. Whilst I understand and accept holdups due to covid (it's the same here in the UK). I do find it unacceptable that the dockets aren't even kept up to date.

My heart goes out to the whole family. Until we get this into court and dealt with trying to heal is impossible.

Why do they need 60 days to give his attorney the evidence? Just hand it to them. Unless you don't have it.

It sounds like the DA has amassed an overwhelming amount of evidence to be turned over.

60 days to get it all together isn't that long or uncommon.

I am concerned there will be some defenses in cases slowed by covid 19 due to speedy trial law. I hope this case gets 100% solved and the perpetrator pays for his actions.

Anyone know if Covid hanging around there please? I just wondered if it was perhaps giving cause for delay in getting to court.

Thank you @MarieWS. I saw SS on ID channel last night -- she was such a beautiful young woman. Prayers and strength to you and yours -- especially her babies.

Savannah's Kids: Community rallies to raise money for Spurlock's children

In efforts to help out the children's father, and caretakers of the children, local Eastern Kentucky University Officer, Erik Botsford and his wife Chelsea, who is also in law enforcement, decided to help out.
One night, Botsford and co-owner of Paddy Wagon Irish Pub in Richmond, Silas Smith, did a show together, and randomly decided to donate all of their tips to help out Savannah's kids.
"We raised $300 that night with no-notice, no advertising, and we were able to give that to their caretakers," he recalled.
He said he and Smith spoke about doing an actual charity show in April, but that was cancelled because of COVID restrictions.
But on Saturday, Nov. 21, Paddy Wagon will host the first Savannah's Kids Charity Show. The event will feature a raffle and silent auction, as well as music by local band, Nightshade, which Botsford is also a member.
All proceeds from the raffle and band tips will go to Savannah's family for childcare.
In addition, the Chuck Wagon will donate a percentage of their proceeds, as well as the bartenders and servers at Paddy Wagon from the tip share.

All the best to you with everything, @MarieWS. Please keep us posted. Sending positive thoughts your way.

I saw Covid is affecting some other cases as well, here’s an example:

@MarieWS - good to hear he has plead guilty. Any news on "when" he will be sentenced? The article in the above post doesn't say - but then I couldn't access it directly - had to put it in Outline - and they stuff out.

TIA for anyone who can read the actual article!
