July 11, 1998 - The Courier-Journal, Louisville, Kentucky. Specifies the river in which decedent was discovered (Rockcastle River, Pulaski Cty., KY) and the approximate time of discovery (9 p.m. July 9, 1998, or so).

One possibility: This person could be someone who is known to have been in a river accident but not listed as a missing person because they're presumed drowned and body not recovered.

Could this be Ronald Wayne Lucas?

Missing from Little Shepherd Trail (near Harlan & Letcher County line) since July 1994. He was looking for ginseng with a friend when they got separated. His friend returned from the trail and Ronald did not. He was 29 years old at the time; 5’8”-5’10”, 170 lbs., blond hair and green eyes. He had several tattoos though, which aren’t reported on the UID. The PMI is off by a few years also...

Charles “Chuck” Wayne Harris
[no photo]
- Eadsville, Kentucky Somerset, Kentucky
- January 1995 July 1998; PMI months
- 35 years old 25-35
- 5’9” 5’8”
- 150 lbs. unknown
- Brown hair & eyes unknown
-Father last saw Charles aka Chuck on 1-21-95 at approx 6:30pm. The vehicle Chuck was driving was found abandoned in the Eadsville community on Jan 26, 1995. The Wayne County Rescue Squad searched the area on Jan. 29, 1995 with nothing found.”

The timeframe would probably be cutting it too close. I can’t figure out how to post links to map locations, but the two area are very close to one another, and connected by the same waterway(s)...

Map: خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏

I'm not sure why you say the timeframe is close? The UID was found three years later?
Thank you for the map! I meant that with the UID’s estimated PMI (months), the 3 year time difference may be pushing it a bit. I’m not sure how long he could have been out there. The locations are just so close.

Ah, got you. When you said "pushing it" I translated to "timeline too short," which of course isn't what you meant :p

We have had PMIs be drastically off before. I wouldn't rule it out based just on that.

  2. Terry Turner
(Side note: NamUs has shown 6 exclusions up until recently. There are only 5 listed; Douglas Kirk is no longer on the list...not sure what that might mean)
