Memorial at Confederate Soldier Unknown (Unknown-1865) - Find A Grave Memorial

Some Clues that could help pinpoint his identy:
1] Reportably he was walking south to his southern home
Inference he was in a non cavalry unit {He had no horse]
IF a report he was wearing boots in good condition was true
Inference he had not been in service very long-else they must have been badly worn out
Allegely he spoke to a local resident about the best way of getting to the County seat..
Inference that while he was not a resident of Pike County..he may have passed through the County seat in question from his own county...and may have felt that once went to the place in qusestion...he could get to his home....
LASlty what Confederate units surrendered or disbaded nea Pike County April/May 1865? Were any units from Ky or say North Carolina involved..one of them may have been his unt...
These are scant clues..but Ive heard of mysteries solved with even less clues than these...so if any ametuer sleuths have a theroy of either who he was or where he came from....write them in please!
