My college girlfriend had a flat spot on the back of her head. She was a twin, and was pressed up against her twin sister in the womb.
Bumping to see if anyone has heard anything. We've waited long enough for a resolution in this case.
Edited to add: The relevant authorities in our state seem to be quite sluggish when it comes to identifying Does. Mark Twain is quoted as having said, "When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Kentucky, because everything happens there 10 years later than it happens everywhere else!". This certainly appears to be the case when it comes to Doe cases.

Edit: I found the "Data Dashboard" which now shows 96.4 CM as the top match, curiously down from the previous high.

i agree similar faces but the other facts make me doubtful. The UIDs PMI is a few days, so Frank would have had to be living under the radar for 20 years.

The long PM interval doesn't bother me since the missing man would still be just about in the decedent's age range and there's no indication he died at the time he disappeared. It does concern me that the missing man was average sized at 5'10" and 150 lbs while the decedent was a very large man at 6'5" and 220 lbs.
The facial resemblance is certainly strong. Even the ears look right.

Facial features appear to be a great match! (I even like the match of eyebrow shape - even though comparison pics show one man groomed and the other more natural)

Hopeful 2025 will be the year he gets his name back.For years I've believed this UID is James R Lehtomaki, missing from MI since 1986. He still hasn't appeared on the rule-out list, has he? (I wonder if there's no Lehtomaki family DNA, although, IIRC... he had a son).

I think Lehtomaki could be of Finnish ancestry, while this John Doe was of Slavic ancestry (it looks like his ancestors are from former Yugoslavia).
Entirely possible. I've never understood the rule-out list on some of these older UID cases.

I suspect the UID is Ernest Stanley Slavik. The age is off (could be a mistake by the coroner), but other things seem to fit pretty well.

John Doe, Grant County
While he has not yet been identified, KSP partnered with the DNA Doe Project in 2021 in hopes of finding the name of a man found dead in April 1989.The man was found in a tobacco barn on State Route 22 near Williamstown, according to the DNA Doe Project website. He'd been shot twice, stripped of his clothing and his hands were severed.
Forensic scientists determined he was a white man, believed to be 25 to 35 years old, 6′ 5″ tall and about 220 pounds.

What about Darryl Dubitski? Dubitski is a Slavic name, and there's been some famous Doe cases from Canada. Bitter Creek Betty is another case where it turned out to be a woman from Edmonton.
