Laurel County investigators are looking for a 54-year-old man last seen Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.

According to Sheriff John Root, Willis Benway was last seen on Locust Grove Road about eight miles southwest of London, Ky.

Sheriff’s Deputy Allen Turner is handling the case.

UPDATE: Green Alert issued for missing Laurel County man

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of a Laurel County man.

Willis Benway, 54, was last seen off Locust Grove Road, 8 miles southwest of London.

The missing person alert was upgraded to a Green Alert by Laurel County Sheriff's Office. A Green Alert is issued for missing veterans with service-related health problems.


Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Benway is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff's Office at 606-878-7000 or 606-864-6600.

Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner continues to investigate.

Laurel County authorities say they still are looking for 54-year-old Willis Benway who was last seen on Locust Grove Road about eight miles southwest of London, Ky., on Jan. 16, 2021.

UPDATE: Body identified as man missing since mid-January - ABC 36 News

Found Deceased
A body found Monday afternoon in a creek in Laurel County has been identified as a man missing since January.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said the body is that of 54-year-old Willis Benway, of Locust Grove Road in London.

Benway had been reported missing on Jan. 19, 2021.

Investigation is continuing by Lt. Chris Edwards, the sheriff said.
