I came across this article although nothing to do with kyrans disappearance I thought it interesting.
I previously couldn't find anything relating to the law regarding whether or not parents were obliged to report harm inflicted upon their child or were responsible for the safety of their child .
This article now makes it even more of a mystery as to why Dayla has not been charged with any offence.
If a parent can be charged with leaving a child unattended .Why can a charge not be brought to a parent whom does not know where there 6/8 year old is ?
I've noticed the reporting of kyrans case in the mainstream media is now non existent. Even on social media its all gone eerily quiet .
Rumour on social media and local talk/ gossip re the fathers speculated custody battle have not been confirmed on main stream media . If there is truth in this I wonder is it not being reported because the public may not be forthcoming with information if they suspect dayla is keeping kyran hidden with a relative so the dad doesn't gain custody.
I don't know about the rest of the world but in certain parts of Ireland particularly areas of high unemployment and Council estates. There is a unwritten rule / code that you don't rat/ tout on your neighbours and in instances of relationship breakdown the mother would be precieved as having rights over the child's whereabouts and the father would be deemed irrelevant and particularly if the father was trouble or precieved as abusive and basically then its an attitude of sure its none of his business because he is not with the mother anymore
Obviously this is different if people suspect the mother killed the child then they turn on the mother and go to the Garda but if they "know " or rumour is that the mother has given the child to a relative so the father can't have access then the mothers family ,neighbours and people living in the area will generally close ranks and say nothing to garda. All this is moo and imo
