The two vanished from County Louth, Ireland, on August 28, and the 24-year-old mum has not made contact with her family since. Kyran was reported missing on August 30.

Dayla's mum, Rhonda Byrne Tyson, is now looking after her daughter's two other children, three-year-old Isla, 3, and Laseigh, seven, at her home in Drogheda. She also called for her daughter to "pick up the phone" in an emotional public plea via the Drogheda Life website, she said she last saw Dayla before she went to bed on the night she vanished.

She said: "When I got up early the next morning Dayla and Kyran, who had been sleeping on the couch, had gone from the house. Dayla left a note on the table saying that she needed to get away for a few days. Last Christmas Dayla was diagnosed with type one diabetes and spent most of the summer in hospital and now she has to inject herself five times a day.

Kyran Durnin (8) from Drogheda has been missing since August 30th

Kyran Durnin (8) from Drogheda has been missing since August 30th
'Sources described the investigation as complex with “many strands”. Some individuals known to the child have been co-operating with the investigation while others have been less forthcoming.'

'The upgrading of the case to a murder inquiry, which is very rare in missing person’s cases, will see significantly more Garda resources assigned to the inquiry. Gardaí believe there is a significant prospect of a breakthrough in the case as a result of extra resources being assigned to it.'

Just to highlight something important from the Irish Times article.
Ms Durnin was later located safe in the UK but there was no sign of Kyran.

It's being reported that Kyran Durnin could have been missing for two years before he was reported missing. The grandmother claims he was asleep on the sofa the night before Dayla and Kyran went missing.

Well that explains why the picture does not look like an 8 year old boy.

Do you have MSM report that states that? So upsetting

So the grandma last saw Kyran the night before they disappeared, yet the police are saying the child could have been dead for over a year. That makes no sense at all unless she is lying?
