Kyron Horman Case Review #1: Thread #1: LE Press Conference & Release: June 5 2010

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am. I went to another FM looking for meds for K they didn't have at the first FM."

I knew that I had read earlier about TH stopping at two FM stores to find Baby K's med! What's on the 9:12 receipt if she didn't get the med? Did Terri (or someone else) make a purchase just to show that she'd been at the store? It's probably not worth losing sleep, but I sure would like to know about that 9:12 purchase ;)

Where did the hour and a half come from?

Good question. LE must know what time she left the second FM and that must have been somewhere around
10:00. Correct? If so, that's the period she's calling "a few minutes" in her first email, from 10:00 to 11:20?

  • #123
Terri said in the email she was at the gym at 11:20, however articles are saying it was 11:39, that is almost a 20 minute difference.

  • #124
If I recall correctly, Desiree is quoted as having suggested that Terri didn't have 90 minutes accounted for. She was quite impassioned about it, as well.

But again, here's Terri not looking at her clock while she's trying to soothe her daughter in the truck "for a few minutes" so ..... well...... that's about where it comes from.

I've posted about that quote before...fwiw, I've always read it as trying to "get K to sleep . . . for a few minutes." Not "driving around for a few minutes" trying to get her to sleep.

We've gotten off topic (sorry, Kimster! :blowkiss:).

Here's Terri's timeline thread:

I was watching to see when y'all would wind back on topic. :) I was guilty of it myself earlier! Once we start reviewing the information, so many thoughts come to mind!

  • #127
Sorry if I misrepresented about the 90 minutes. I can't look for links now, but believe I've read that information somewhere. Perhaps it was just someone's speculation, and I'll try to be more careful in the future.

Gates was asked if the family was out searching. His answer was "We haven't had the family out in the field with us". Then he says something to the effect they have someone with them constantly. That firstly is interesting to me, because it sounds like they LE didn't want them to go out searching. Secondly, when we were first going over this case in the original thread, someone who worked at a convenience store near the school, posted here that Kyron's brother came into her store and said he was searching for Kyron. I will see if I can find her post to verify when that was.

ETA Here it is, posted by animefemme:

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - OR - Kyron Horman, 7 yo Second grader, Portland, 4 June 2010 - #17

This is fact: Saturday morning at about 10:00 am, a teenager came up to our lobby gal and asked where he could find the energy drinks; he was wearing a Kyron t-shirt. She pointed him in the right direction, and then remarked on his shirt, shared her sadness about the case, and asked if he knew Kyron personally. "Yeah," he replied, "he's my brother." The young man set off on his way, presumably in search of the energy drinks, and vanished (no pun intended)...I don't know if he found or purchased them after the fact, but nobody remembered ringing him up or where he went. I'm implying nothing, just sharing a story.

Any idea which brother this is? DY's son or TH's son? TY's, if he has any?

EDIT: never mind, I see it's off topic.

Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby said two teachers saw Kyron with his mother and thought the two left school together. He said it was not uncommon for parents to pick up kids this way, so no suspicions were raised.

This is bothering me. Not uncommon for parents to pick up kids what way? Just take them out of the school?

This bothers me a lot.

Also from this article:

Zimmerman's daughter 🤬🤬🤬 is one of Kyron's best friends.

The 8-year-old said she and Kyron would play Dragons and Knights and sway together on the tire swings. "I'm very worried and I hope he's okay," she said.

She also said Kyron would not have gone off with a stranger, only with his mother, whom he loves.

:(

False sense of security. Parent well known around school is seen with child, child is not in class...must have left with parent (especially on a unique day like the science fair/talent show day where kids aren't going to be at their desks when the bell rings). No excuse for the lack of accountability but it's understandable how it could have happened human nature-wise. Plus you know a spokesman is going to try to put an accidental face on it, not admit negligence right away.

It's been a while since I had a child in school, but I think if they are allowing the parents to take the child out of school before the end of the school day without telling someone at least... then that school better change its policies!! Even in high school, I had to send a note for a doctor/dental appointment so they would be excused.

It isn't. That's a metallic water bottle.

Oh Good, I hope so, because I sooo want to believe Kyron is alive!

What did I miss-why would a water bottle indicate whether or not he is alive?

Also I may have missed, in the review, about Sauvie Island-when that was searched and when ended. That is all very strange to me.
