LA - Ahlittia North, 6, abducted & murdered, Harvey, 13 July 2013

I heard the same and it sounded like he said "a pinkish stain on a (plywood hinged 2x4). And none of the officers that searched all the receptacles recalled seeing it on the first search.

And not sure if he meant on top of the can or on top of the garbage in the can.

I thought what he said is that the board was on top of the can, and there was a pinkish stain from the board on Ahlittia's clothing that would have come from having the board resting on her for a time, but then he phrased it differently the second time and I'm not sure exactly what he did mean.

Who was shooting at who? Was the shooting on Friday night a completely unrelated event? I know it didn't have anything directly to do with Ahlittia's death.

Yes they think it was a completely unrelated event.

Also, it was said that LE had made arrangements with the garbage company that all the garbage could be brought to a specific location so they could do a secondary search after having completed the primary search of each receptacle. So at what time she was put in the garbage can is one of the remaining unanswered questions.

I also heard MF was in and around both crime scenes (2836 D Ave & Ahlittia's home) multiple times Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

What I like is his willingness to give details to help us understand what happened instead of treating every little thing as classified info.

As well as how hard they worked and searched and set up crime scenes etc. and got test results back.

I'm with you Silky. The public isn't always a liability and with a child murderer on the loose, the more people knowing/outraged and looking the better.

I hope they catch this monster quickly.

What a great presser. I recorder the first 25 min and then lost the rest. Will add to the archive.

THAT is some kind of good Sheriff and TEAM!

They did not mention "dismembered" so I am guessing that to be a false report, correct?

I recorded it on my DVR, so I can review if there are questions about the end portion.

Yes. They said she was stabbed multiple times and beaten some, but no mention of anything like that.

I believe there was supposed to be a law enforcement conference help today at 3pm but I still can't find any updates on that via the Internet. Maybe locals have more info...anyone from around the area?

Several of us posted summaries in her thread upstairs.

"no obvious signs of sexual trauma..." coroner

Ahlittia fought him, jmo

Wonder if any sexual assault occurred in recent past and he knew she might talk about it, so got rid of her. What a beast!

Have LE been able to pinpoint the time of her abduction? Was it on the 12th or the 13th? Thanks.

That's what I am wondering as well. Maybe he knew they were investigating the assault on the 11 yr old, so he figured he had to get rid of his other victim, who he probably abused when he babysat previously. JMO

Well, a recent assault could be harder to detect if he'd already been physically abusing her. I wonder if there are drugs involved and/or another person he was bringing her to. You figure he already had the perfect victim, it's not like he didn't have access to her.

The more awful this story gets, the more awful I think it's going to get.

Sheriff Normand tried to make it clear that they're not sure of the exact timeline after 1am at this point. So technically the 13th, yes.

The timeline the sheriff gave in the interview was that the whole family was at the grocery store at 10:38 (captured on video). They came home and over the course of the next couple of hours got the kids into bed, made some food for themselves, and finally got themselves to bed around 1 a.m. Saturday.

When they woke up at 8 a.m. Saturday, she was gone.

So most likely between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on the 13th, with 10:38 as the last confirmed time.

Other people who were listening to the presser, correct me if I got that wrong...

There are a lot of similarities, aren't there? Probably just coincidence though.

I started doing that with Cherish and Alanna. It's been a long summer already. Wish it would end soon.
