A Lake Charles couple will spend years behind bars for lying to police about their teenage son's involvement in a drive-by shooting that killed a 14-year-old girl in 2009.

boy- I know of some other parents of convicted (and not convicted fca) who lied to police after the fact- wish those prosecuters in those jurisdictions had the cojones to do the same!

I know of a couple of people this news item needs to be sent to! Justice should be an across the board deal and not for just a few.

I have seen family members get on the witness stand and give false testimony covering for their loved one and nothing ever happens to them. I was glad to see a Prosecutor doing something about it. Kudos to the Prosecutor.

When I first read this my first thought was of a recent infamous case here. But you are right, they aren't the first family to do it and won't be the last. I too wish that when they could prove the families are obstructing justice that they would prosecute them.
