Aha...very true why not get rid of anything that could incriminate you? Only answer is they were "trophies".. he really must have thought he would not be caught for this murder is also what it tells me... Think we will be shocked as this all unravels and LE has some damning evidence....

Didn't they charge him with 1st Degree Murder before they searched his home? Maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

OK, a mood-lightener here, and a chicken-fried secret. Y'all are "anonymous" so here's the scoop:

I'm heading to Wal-Mart to buy a couple new pairs of jeans//// old ones are worn out and I'm hard on them.

So.... got tired of my mom and others riding me about my jeans riding low while I'm working out in the yard. The cuts for men for the last few years have been SOOO baggy - they don't fit me. Plus, I don't like the new baggy fit anyway.

So last year at Wal-Mart, after the last scolding from my mom (and it didn't matter how much I tightened the belt, the darn jeans kept riding low), the light bulb went on.

Ohhh, I know I'm going to take so much c*** for this, but at heart I am a no-nonsense problem solver:

.
.
.
.

I walked by the women's section and saw a bunch of jeans on sale that did NOT have all the feminine stitching , etc.... just plain black and blue jeans....

Rermembered my momma's scolding about my baggy jeans.... started looking....

Damn if I'm not a perfect 12P
:woohoo:

They fit great, don't fall down, and no one can ever tell they ain't men's jeans unless I tell them....

With that, I'm off to run and hide in the women's section at Wal-Mart while y'all razz my chicken butt

:takeabow:
Thank you! I think it's a very good, and healthy move to throw a little funny out here once in awhile!
We need that! :D

I thought they basically made the charges public while the search was going on...so not so sure the charges resulted from the search...JMO

As an adoption/reunion self-proclaimed knowledgable in the field, i can answer these questions. We know he had 2 stepfathers, both named lavergne. He has a biological sister, I am assuming same mother/father or at minimum same bio mother.

I personally believe ALL children who are adopted have adoption-related issues (such as rejection, alienation, sexual-identity issues which are very well documented), and there is rumor that he burned down the family home twice. I would say there are issues. He most definitely has an issue with anger towards women. I would call this at 15% adoption issues, 15% environmental issues and 70% genetic (his bio father most likely has severe issues with women, but we don't know who that is, and may never know).

This is my opinion only and I am not degreed in this area however I have been doing adoption/reunion work for over 30 years now and I know an adoption-related issue when I smell one.
Sure, all of this may be relevant in this case. Remember Ted Bundy? He had learned that his sister was actually his birth mother. I'm not sure what his age was when he learned this, but finding such info out has to have enormous impact on your head, IMO.

that's what my memory tells me, that he was charged prior to all of their discovery. So that would mean that they found additional evidence after they charged him? Because LE called his home a "major crime scene"

I wonder if there might be more than one crime at the scene.

I understood it to be that they said they were treating the home as a major crime scene, in case it was one. JMO

I agree...when you are on the property and inside the house of a named suspect in a major crime such as this, the police surely arent going to go in with doritos in one hand and diet coke in the other, sitting on the sofa and watching tv....they are going to take every precaution to identify, collect and preserve anything that MAY be evidence...thus, they are TREATING the scene as if it were a crime scene...it may be, and it may not be, but they have to treat it as if it is...JMO

I believe they said it was a major crime investigation.

I believe they said it was a major crime investigation.

Respectfully, they have named him as the perp in a kidnapping and murder...the investigation is ongoing, so of course it was, and is, a major crime investigation. Nothing in that statement implies that the crime was committed in any particular location.

KKDJ, do you have a link for that quote?

I am trying to find a link for the interview with a LEO outside BSL's home the night of the arrest. I would like to watch again to see exactly what he said. I think he said "this is a major crime scene". I may be wrong....will find a link and post.

http://www.dailyworld.com/article/20120706/NEWS01/207060316/Police-seach-home-Shunick-case

"We were only involved today when they told us they had a search warrant for this residence and it's in St. Landry Parish, so we have to be here. We're

considering this a crime scene," Vizena said, adding that she knew little about the search.

Okay, that is what I thought...they are considering it a crime scene...not that it is one. They don't know yet at that point...and we still don't. JMO

I don't disagree with you. I was quoting LE literally:
"LPD and Saint Landry Parish Sherriff Deputies are executing a search warrant of Brandon Scott Lavergne’s residence on the 100 block of Elaine Lane in the Swords area. Saint Landry Parish Sherriff Bobby Guidroz says they are there investigating a major crime. He would neither confirm nor deny that the operation was in connection with the Shunick case."

Ok - now I'll let you in on a secret - if you would have asked before I would have told ya that. My son will only wear womens jeans for the exact same reason. Always takes me with him so it looks like I am buying them....LOL

Whatever works! This weekend I was resale shopping and found a cute top that was a perfect fit, it's a maternity top and I'm not preggers! I bought it.

I remember cause I was like huh?! :what:You say you don't think she was there but you have a major crime scene?
