"The Daily Advertiser confirmed last week that Lavergne owns two properties on Constantine Road in Lafayette Parish in the Duson area. Lafayette Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Paul Mouton said that property has been checked by police in their search for Shunick."

I wonder if anything incriminating was found at his Constantine Road property.

I am trying to find a link for the interview with a LEO outside BSL's home the night of the arrest. I would like to watch again to see exactly what he said. I think he said "this is a major crime scene". I may be wrong....will find a link and post.

I can not find it. Feeling dumb.
It was a local station, the night before the press conference. It was just after we learned the name BSL.

Can anyone help me find the link?

I don't think they know where the crime scene is...it may very well be his truck, or the spot where he left Mickey. Probably his truck, in my opinion.

OK, a mood-lightener here, and a chicken-fried secret. Y'all are "anonymous" so here's the scoop:

I'm heading to Wal-Mart to buy a couple new pairs of jeans//// old ones are worn out and I'm hard on them.

So.... got tired of my mom and others riding me about my jeans riding low while I'm working out in the yard. The cuts for men for the last few years have been SOOO baggy - they don't fit me. Plus, I don't like the new baggy fit anyway.

So last year at Wal-Mart, after the last scolding from my mom (and it didn't matter how much I tightened the belt, the darn jeans kept riding low), the light bulb went on.

Ohhh, I know I'm going to take so much c*** for this, but at heart I am a no-nonsense problem solver:

.
.
.
.

I walked by the women's section and saw a bunch of jeans on sale that did NOT have all the feminine stitching , etc.... just plain black and blue jeans....

Rermembered my momma's scolding about my baggy jeans.... started looking....

Damn if I'm not a perfect 12P
:woohoo:

They fit great, don't fall down, and no one can ever tell they ain't men's jeans unless I tell them....

With that, I'm off to run and hide in the women's section at Wal-Mart while y'all razz my chicken butt

:takeabow:

So now are we to call you "chicken fried" or "chicken butt"?

You really had me laughing, thanks for the levity.

:praying: Bless you for finding that! That's exactly what I wanted to say but decided not to because I had no linky!

That is what I think! They found something at another property that we were not privy to. It had not been reported as of yet.

Then again I have one more thought that really bothers me and that is what if he had audio or video?

haven't heard anything about a "puter" though...

I do find it really odd how the only people defending him are his court appointed lawyers...

Judge - "You're being held on two original arrest warrants. One is aggravated kidnapping. Bail in that amount is set at $250,000, and the second charge is for first degree murder and you're being withheld bond in that matter. Do you have a lawyer?"

Lavergne - "No I don't sir."

Judge - "Can you afford a lawyer?"

Lavergne - "Not in a case like this sir."

Judge - "Excuse me?"

Do we know who his father is? Do we know if it is a different father than the other kids? Someguy said he met his sister. Is she from the same father?
Did BSL have issues with having been given up for adoption?
Did BSL have a rough life growing up with his adoptive mother?
Maybe none of these questions have anything to do with why he turned out like he is, but perhaps something caused in him something of a very deep anger towards women.

Someguy mentioned in a previous post that he's not sure that Brandon even knows who his biological father is.

I'm going to cut The Independent some slack for now. You may remember that early on I gave them some props for digging hard on issues. Yes, sometimes they go out on a limb, but there is investigative journalism going on there, to a degree now unusual at The Advertiser (hamstrung by the Gannett takeover and severely limited in the department of investigative journalism).

The idea that the Independent reporter e-mailed back and backed up the claim carries weight with me, as a former journalist.

We shall see.

<snipped by HouDat>

Due to market forces out of the reporters' control, I do not, and cannot, count on the Advertiser to adequately cover the city. Thus now there is room for The Independent to step in and do the key journalistic work,

I agree, TheInd does possess at least a modicum of ability. The problem with them is for every decent investigative piece turned out by Leslie Turk, you've got a b****y crybag piece done by Walter Pierce (who sounds like a whiny bottom who was mercilessly wedgied by the cool kids in school) dragging down the overall integrity of the publication.

Add to that the selective use of hit pieces on public figures with whom they disagree politically, and it's a difficult task for the average reader to separate the wheat from the sewage.

At any rate, TheInd can be good at times (their coverage of the whole Busted in Acadiana fiasco, for one), and much like their predecessor (the early incarnation of The Times of Acadiana) they're read by a lot of the "look-at-me!!!" types who comprise a fair portion of the Cajunet™.

That is close...it is the same day and I think the reporter was in the same spot but she interviewed a Leo.

The person talking is LE spokesperson and she says it at 00:25 in the video "they are treating this residence as a crime scene"

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Megan Vizena is the person talking.

The video I remember was a female asking a male Leo questions.

I have to admit, the report about alleged findings at BSL's house is intriguing, IF TRUE. On the other hand, the reporting publication is not MSM. For the moment, the information should not be stated as fact in our discussions.

This is the same newspaper who first reported that RM had been questioned.

Ha! Remember that guy, anyone?

I do not think they posted the link I was looking for.
This one was an interview with a male officer and he made a comment about a major crime scene.

In any case...we don't know where the murder took place...or even the exact locale of the abduction for that matter. When LE goes to the home of a suspect in a situation like this, they are going to approach the residence as though it could be a major crime scene...not knowing what they will find. And obviously they are investigating a major crime. It may well be that residual evidence (computers, electronic devices, clothing, shoes) etc...were taken to examine to determine if they are connected in any way to Mickey's abduction or murder. They may still be waiting on some of that evidence, if in fact they did take such items. I think it is safe to say that we don't know if LE encountered a crime scene, per se, in the home but that they were prepared, just in case.

I don't know if you saw my earlier post, but is this the quote you're thinking of?
"LPD and Saint Landry Parish Sherriff Deputies are executing a search warrant of Brandon Scott Lavergne’s residence on the 100 block of Elaine Lane in the Swords area. Saint Landry Parish Sherriff Bobby Guidroz says they are there investigating a major crime. He would neither confirm nor deny that the operation was in connection with the Shunick case."
