A couple of years ago we had a RSO move into our neighborhood. A neighbor saw his info online after he moved in on our state registry... We live in a real family oriented neighborhood, with a lot of children... Several moms got together and wrote a letter with all of this pervo's info, where he lived, his crime, etc, and passed one out to everyone in the neighborhood. Anyway, the neighborhood association sent out a newsletter and came down real hard on everyone for doing that... Apparently, it violated his rights to distribute the info that way. That the correct way to keep informed is to monitor the state registry and whatever resources they offer. So, we can't put anything about him in writing, but they never said we couldn't use our mouth... And needless to say, every kid in our neighborhood is aware of him and he certainly wasn't greeted with any hospitality or friendly introductions... We really never see him out... Thank goodness.

At that point you march yourself and all your mommies down to your local state representative and get the law changed. In some place offenders have to put a sign in their front yard. You need to get that law changed and protect those children ASAP. You have more "rights" than he does. That is shameful and can and should be changed. That is what a state representative is for - to change laws to benefit innocent people not child molesters. Do that now if the law is still the same.

New poster so please forgive me if I screw up..Back to the pictures y'all..what are the chances he had an iPhone with the location services turned on while taking pics? I didn't even know my phone did this until I clicked on "places" in my camera app.. It drops a pin on a map and you can select the city or location and it'll show you what pictures were taken in that specific location. Hopefully they looked at that possibility..Might narrow down Mickey's location!!:crossfingers:

I'm wondering that too "Justwannahelp"... Did they not do a good search of his home back then? If he was in fact hiding womens possessions in a safety deposit box like some have said he might have, it would have been opened.

But if he had those items and they were not at his home when investigated, where was he hiding them?

on BSL's sex offender stats it says scar on ribs and surgical scar on hand. i know these were there before he took Mickey. so do you think they weren't surgical at all and that they were put there by other victims? maybe he had pictures of these wounds too? would he have been proud of his "battle scars"? i would think that they would anger him

By January 2000, the couple had separated and Lavergne had allegedly attacked his wife in Opelousas while AWOL from Fort Polk. She filed for divorce Feb. 9, 2000.

BBM - ??? Wonder how many times that happened ?!?

Don't know. Maybe someone can research anyone murdered/raped around Leesville, Louisiana (vernon parish) during the time that scumbucket was in the service there. I am sure he went AWOL on a regular basis. I cannot image him taking orders from anyone. Lots and lots of woods to hide bodies in around there. The nearest cities are Leesville, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Shreveport -- where he would probably do his hunting.

there are a lot of RSOs with the last name lavergne. do you think one of these abused him as a child? NOT an excuse, just speculating

gasoline. he had to have purchased a lot of gasoline to set his parents home on fire and his own home. too bad his mother didn't suspect him of arson. she could have turned his butt in and kept him off the streets!

Are you sure about the surgical scar on hand being from the past? What I remember is that there were surgical scars on his abdomen listed when I saw it before the current arrest. Maybe the surgical scar on the hand is a recent addition.

Our verified insider Laffy Taffy said BSL was injured in the car accident in 1999 -- possibly could be from that, also.

what's the deal with the truth serum? why don't we use that here in the US? violation of "rights"?

Hi websleuthers,
Do we know when his house supposedly burned down last year? And does anyone have information on women that went missing around that time and have not been found?

it was definitely there when i looked him up the night we got wind of his name from TD. i remember thinking hand surgery was weird and that the rib area may have been gall bladder

IMO, the hand scar may have been added at his May check-in.

Something is not right! Surprise. I know.
If they listed the hand why didn't they list the "other" stab
wounds as well?
NO mention of neck back and chest!

I know they only listed what they saw... what's the point even???

ohhhhhhh. duh. i looked him up AFTER his check in. :slap:

Yes -- I'd guess we all did! And I do not know for sure that the check-in is when the hand scar was added, just thinking it might be.

this is what i'm wondering. did they not inform the family who they had suspicions about back in 2000? seems like they would have recognized his name or picture?? also, i would have called Lafayette LE and said, "hey did you take a look at BSL? we think he killed our daughter in 1999"

more importantly, WHY DIDN'T THEY PIN THAT MURDER ON HIM BACK THEN??!!!

i am so upset by this, as i'm sure Mickey's family is. it's seems like whatever evidence they have now would have been just as good back then, so where was is then? did they not search his home or vehicle in 1999? so so so upsetting!!!
http://theadvocate.com/news/3390194-123/acadia-grand-jury-had-looked
"While no arrests were made, prosecutors asked an Acadia Parish grand jury in April 2008 to consider second-degree murder charges against Lavergne in Pate’s death. However, the grand jury took no action on the case. According to minutes from the grand jury, the group returned a “pretermit” in the case, meaning no decision was made either to indict or to clear Lavergne on the charge."

They tried but at the time they did not have enough evidence for the grand jury to bring a true bill. I'm guessing LE found something in their search.

I looked at the registry about a week before BSL was arrested and the hand surgery was noted. Maybe it was a recent addition.
