I'm just really confused about why Claire would get in the car with someone who stalked her, put a handfull of ants in her mouth, and shoved her head against something. I mean, I know the ant/head slam incident happened when they were kids but I would remember that years later and still not willingly go anywhere with the guy. Even if my boyfriend was there. And I'd break up with any boyfriend who hung out with the guy who had stalked me and mistreated me since elementary school (and this behavior towards Claire seems to go back a long time...way before any accident).

I have heard that a few years ago there was an accident in Church Point where a man named Brandon (but NOT BSL, different last name) was drunk and/or high and driving with his girlfriend in the car. They hit another car and a female driver of the other car was killed. The man driving left his girlfriend trapped in the car while he went and hid, possibly after hiding the dead woman's body. He was found but nothing much happened to him. I have heard that this man is not Brandon Lavergne but another man named Brandon and the woman killed was not Lisa Pate.

Is it possible Brandon Lavergne used to stalk/threaten Miss Church Point Claire and that she is/was in a wheelchair (maybe due to an unrelated car accident), and these two stories got merged together/mixed up on the rumor mill?

Many locals were also saying they had heard that BSL had set a house on fire in Church Point with the bodies of two already deceased women in it and gotten away with it. Some newspaper database sleuthing showed me that this case happened while BSL was in prison and that a man was eventually arrested & charged for the murders/arson (Not BSL). I'm just thinking that BSL might be getting blamed for every single incident of arson & women's unnatural deaths in and around Church Point. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's guilty of A LOT just not everything bad that's ever happened in the area ever.

I'm not saying Laffy Taffy doesn't know what he/she is talking about, just throwing this out there in case...I am probably just not as in the know as Laffy is.

i THINK that Laffy Taffy made clear that it WAS NOT BSL who was responsible for the 2 bodies then fire crime. that was another person's crime.

FWIW, i've never heard of that other wreck being related to BSL. actually, i've never heard of that other wreck at all

Heard some unsettling news today via a friend (albeit hearsay) that an attorney said that there is not enough evidence to win a conviction re: the MS case, that's why the LP case was pursued. God, I certainly hope that this attorney is just not "in the know" about the particulars and he is wrong. This man needs to be off the streets before he harms yet another innocent beautiful woman and all the individuals impacted by this.

I hope your source is incorrect as well.

In my opinion, based on the Chief saying that they are confident in what manner Mickey was murdered (not exact words), I think they must for sure know that she was. I think they have some very solid evidence showing that she was murdered. Just wish it pointed to where she now is.

is this the area that NOLA people said was popular for putting bodies because it hasn't been "fixed" since Katrina? it does look pretty beat up still. there is a warehouse with only half a roof etc. i'm going back and forth with this one. it could be her, but i think he'd be too afraid to go into that area as it is most likely overrun by gangs now, right? anyone know this area in Marrero?

Robinson Avenue is right off of Hwy 90, a possible way BSL could have driven intoNew Orleans. He could have passed up the Huey P Long bridge, gone into Marrero, dumped body, driven back to Huey P Long bridge, and been at Ochsner fairly quickly after dumping the body.

I doubt this is Mickey but I hope it is for her family's sake and to help strengthen the prosecution's case.

I keep thinking about the part of his "attack at the gas station" story in which he said he was in the area visiting a friend ... . Perhaps he really does know someone in that area.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear- I never meant to imply that Laffy Taffy had posted about the 2 bodies then fire crime. I don't remember who did- in fact, maybe a few people did and I think they said it was what they had heard rather than fact.

And all I know is when I mentioned the car accident rumor to someone, they recalled the other car accident with another Brandon driving and told me the accidents had gotten mixed up in the rumor mill. Now I am not certain this is the case or which rumor (if any) is correct. Just letting everyone know that just as some have heard the rumor about Claire, the car accident, and body I have also heard the rumor that some of parts of these rumors may have been mixed/merged with other past cases. I am just saying we are not sure yet what all is real, rumor, half-real, half-rumor. I just feel like Claire would have mentioned this car accident thing and that she was hanging out with him at one time before or while he was stalking her (which would be weird) or that there was some huge incident (the alleged car accident) that caused the stalking.... It also sounded like he had been really mean to her since they were little kids. Why was she in the car with him and why was her boyfriend friends with the guy who was stalking/mistreating his girlfriend? Why not tell this info about the incident or car accident to the tv interviewer? I feel like it's unlikely LE (if they know about the accident) would be okay with her talking to the media even if she left the accident out. I feel like they'd either say it's not okay to talk to the media or nothing at all, not say it's okay to talk about the stalking, but not the accident.

I'm really not trying to pick on anyone or any posts. Just adding what I have heard about these rumors. I am sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular & I did not mean to offend.

An article that mentions the house where Lisa Pate was found states the name of the man who rented the house, and he only had lived in that house for a month. Mid August to mid September.

We know that Lisa went missing in June.

How does the accident rumor match up with what we know from MSM?

I have heard a few different versions of this accident rumor.

It is confusing, as Lisa was found September 21, and that would mean that CH would have moved in to this house in mid August after the accident?
If she was afraid of BSL, why would she move into a house owned by a BSL relative after an accident where BSL was driving ?

It is very confusing. The renter that lived there for one month was the renter that moved in after the accident and was the one that found the remains. As far as I know, they had no connection to Brandon.

The prior renter was Brandon's roommate who did die in that accident. After the accident and his death the house was vacated. It is my understanding that Brandon's cousin owned the property.

Perhaps Claire did live there also but I was not aware of that.

It's possible that he did go to the area and dump her body, and perhaps encountered a mugger. The location is about a 25 minute drive from Ocshner Hospital...here's a google map showing both places:

When the grand jury for BSL was convened, it was in an amazingly short time frame from an evidence-wise point of view. After all, evidence takes time to be processed: DNA profiles, hair/fiber analysis, and weeding out extraneous trace evidence (like BSL's girlfriend's hair) are time-consuming things. Evidence has to be woven together to present a cohesive whole that adequately garners an indictment.

So, how do you get an indictment on 1st degree murder on two women (one a cold case) in that short time frame between arrest and grand jury? After all, you have to convince at least 8 of those jurors that there is enough reasonable suspicion on this guy to warrant a trial. How do you convince them? You find something so big, so irrefutable and so glaringly obvious that the grand jury squeaks out a "true bill" within hours. You find something which points to not one, but two women being dead by this man's hand....And you do it without one of those corpses being found. These grand jurors are not forensic experts, legal experts or LE, after all. They are average people, like you and me. Laymen.

So what did LE find in that trailer that made those jurors take a look at the evidence and say, "Yeah, this guy needs to stand trial. Both of those women are dead by his hand, and he premeditated their demise."? Just circumstancial evidence may not be enough.

They found something big enough and convincing enough that two true bills were returned within hours.

Local news station just reported that it's a male body, believed to be (not confirmed) that of a 15 yr old boy who vanished Tuesday.
