snipped cuz just want to comment on the gators:

Chardonnay said:
"Department of Wildlife and Fisheries had a program in the mid to late 1990s, where they reintroduced gators to areas where the species was hunted out previously. Thus, from Morrow on down (that I know of), gators are in many of the waterways. They may not be plentiful, but they are there. Locals are still trying to eradicate the danged things."

Here's a way to get an idea. I drove to NOLA from Baton Rouge several times last summer and saw a total of 3 alligators ON I-10 (on different trips). They were all roadkill, and were young gators, but that sheds a little light on the gators. There really are a lot of them. For non locals. Baton Rouge to NOLA is about 80 miles.

The presence of that many young gators on the road point to them searching for food...IE, species saturation or downright overpopulation.

When my kids went fishing with their father in Henderson Bay about a month back, they observed a bunch of gators out there during daylight (someone probably disturbed the nesting area). As you may know, more of them come out at night.

Possible location where perp. could have left bodies?:

I'm trying to understand a possible connection between the suspect and several women who were stalked and/or missing:

From news articles, videos we know:

1) Claire Higgenbotham was stalked for years by BSL.
2) Claire was in a wheelchair. (photo) in news article.
3) Holly Bobo (a missing woman, abducted by a perp. in camo, went to Mississippi at some point):

http://www.tnbaptist.org/BRPrint.asp?ID=3804

a church missions trip to Mississippi to help people with special needs enjoy a camp.

4) There is a renewed search for Holly Bobo after over a year of minimal activity.
--------------------
My questions are:

1) Did Claire Higgenbotham attend a camp to help people with special needs?

2) Was it the same camp that Holly Bobo went on a missions trip to?

3) If so, did the suspect stalk Claire Higgenbotham during the time that Holly Bobo was in Mississippi at the camp?

4) Did the suspect cross paths with Holly Bobo, and subsequently stalk her?

5) Did the suspect at any time cross paths with Holly Bobo and subsequently stalk her?

6) Where is Holly Bobo? Where is Mickey Shunick?

That's it for now.

I know it's way "out there," but what isn't with these types of perps.?

As an example, we know per "To Catch a Predator" program, that perps. will drive hours to get to a potential victim's house.

Thank you.

My info says that they are searching the power line area today shared by the Vegas psychic..

Foxfire, are you serious? I hope so. I mean I don't do the whole psychic thing but since it was posted online "for free", it makes me wonder if it in fact was a psychic. Even it it was a psychic, the area makes sense to the route and looks like a "good" hiding spot, so I hope they are searching it. If you are serious, it's the Parish road (Atchafalaya Levee Road) that Bessie found that, to me, makes the most sense with the comment and his route. Is this the road they are searching?

Yes. I want to say we were in a drought at the time?? Or maybe it was when the Mississippi river was flooding so they open the Spillway? I can't remember exactly, but there may have been a reason besides overpopulation. Good point.

A Lafayette Parish Grand Jury heard the state’s evidence regarding how accused

* killer Brandon Scott Lavergne allegedly took his truck to Texas after Mickey Shunick’s murder, burned it and

'was brought back home'.

(snipped)

The grand jury source, concerned about being linked to revelation of secret testimony, would not discuss what the jurors considered regarding how Lavergne got back to Swords after allegedly taking his truck to Texas and burning it or what they evidently considered a credible link between Lavergne and Whiskey Bay.

so "brought back home" means he didn't rent a car and drive himself? do we know more about the rental car than the Eunice paper or were we fooled when a rental car person told us he rented a red chevy aveo in Texas?

Yes, from a verified local on this thread. They were eyewitnessed this morning.

I am surprise that this area wasn't focused on much sooner.. Heard that it was, but it is a vast area of primitive roads, trails & swamps. The feral hog population in this area is very large..

oh my! they better be careful around those hogs!! that's all we need is a dead searcher - killed by a hog. I'm sure those poor searchers have had ENOUGH of South Louisiana cajun country in late July. They must be just downright miserable at this point. Tim Miller said he was "wore out".

Everyone say a prayer for those searchers today! May the Holy Spirit give them strength to go on searching robustly and the guidance to find her. May He light their way! Let today be the day!!!!

Can anyone make out the car maker? Do we know who owns this car that was found at BSL's?

It kind of looks like a Mercedes, but it could just be some off brand car - a Hyndai or Kia optima or something like that??

From what I understand, it was the bruises and other injuries to the victim that convinced them it was nonconsensual.

Court documents, police reports/statements indicate the victim said he tied her up with her own shirt. It was found on the floor still knotted. She said he ripped telephone out the wall. His fingerprints were on the phone. She said he crawled through the window and his muddy foot prints were around the window. Her writsts were bruised from being tied up. Etc.

Hogs will eat anything/everything. Not a nice thing to think about regarding Mickey, but I can see BSL using this type of place to dump a body. An almost perfect way to dispose of someone.

The image in that picture looks too much like Mickey's posture in the following picture, except for the blonde hair, which is red/brown in the one I found.

IMO it was photoshopped.

ETa: I believe if a spirit were there, you would see a mist, not in the shape of the human form. I have seen this in my home not long after my son's death!

I think we know more than the Eunice paper. ;)

My bold above.

I was thinking about them and praying this a.m. Their clothes must be drenched with sweat, and they also have to get the energy to attend to the horses.

Wonder what time they start searching in the a.m., because the earlier the better in the summer heat/humidity.

Yep, something I learned the hard, frustrating way from the Mickey Shunick case is that hush hush is good. They must be onto something.

When investigators start publicly pleading for information (as they did the first three weeks of Mickey's disappearance), they normally have nothing. When the pleas aren't constant, and they're saying a lot of "No comment" to questions, it only means one thing: they're onto something and they're working hard on it. They will naturally divert manpower and brainpower to those areas most worthy of investigation at a given time. I like "hush, hush" right now...It means investigators have things to process at this time.

Both events would push all species to new locations, and the roadkill would also have some non-normal species (the usual armadillos, possums, snakes, squirrels and the occasional owl). When they opened Morganza, people were photographing everything from skunk families to entire herds of deer fleeing in broad daylight on the levee roads. One camera crew saw a black bear moving, which is pretty scary when you think about it. Those bruins are nothing nice.

I'd go with either drought or overpopulation, though. Morganza's opening caused water to flow through Krotz Springs/Henderson/Whiskey Bay area (West of the Atchafalaya) and on down to Morgan City. It was quite a sight to see the levees way down there stressed to capacity...It's not something you see every day.

Hi, Isabelle. Chicken fried has a good post earlier in this thread about this photo. I'm not sure how to link to a specific post, sorry:blushing:

Just as I think there is a special place in hell for people like BSL, I also believe there has to be a special place in heaven for people like Tim and the volunteers who put themselves into uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situations looking for someone they don't even know.

Those searchers rock!:rocker:

This road has been discussed many weeks ago. If ES and LE never checked it out before I am flabbergasted!
