Folks, please, it's starting to drive me crazy(er).
This habit of responding to people without giving context to others is a bad habit we all fall into.

Posts can be separated from each other by quite a few other posts.

Please :please: start quoting comments, for the sake of my sanity.

The threads are becoming seriously unreadable!

(Not picking on you, SteveP! I logged back in and the first comment I saw - yours - made no sense - I've gone back a bit to try to understand your context, and I must be missing it!!)

It was some credible info that I posted that got deleted immediately. It has been turned over to LE and is being investigated. LE was NOT aware and found it very interesting.

I asked Steve the same question (right after his post) and he immediately responded to me (right after my post). Post 1046 "Sorry, that was in response to someone who asked of it was reported that BSL had gone to another town before going to hospital."

I'm just hoping they are making a plea bargain. He pleads guilty for LWP, and we get our Mickey back home. Who? Who? Who? would want to drag themselves and their family through a nasty trial?????? Prayers that today is the day MS comes home.

I took a quick break to call The Daily Advertiser about the footage taken from their building.

I asked if they had released a still, and they said, "absolutely not."

I asked if maybe it was leaked by someone - LE - or otherwise - to a local TV station, and they said they'd ask around.

I can swear I saw it. And if you recall, the only officially released photo of any DWT from the right side was the one across from Circle K, behind Mickey.

The photo I remember seeing was taken from the right side. It is possible that someone cropped one of Miabella's 3:25a photos, taken on N. University, linked a page or two back, and presented it here as the Advertiser footage, or I misremembered it, because those photos were from the right side.

I still think I saw it on TV.

Until there is clarification, I'm going to drop it, because I don't want to sow rumor or confusion.

If I mis-saw it, I sincerely apologize.

You may have seen it and then it was suddenly pulled. Maybe somehow one of the news stations got a hold of it and aired it, but it certainly does not seem to have found its way to the net. So whether or not there is a still from the footage, we don't have it here and according to the DA it hasn't been released BUT LE did say the footage exists. Now, whether people want to believe that or not, is on them.

Yeah, I went searching backward, looking for what he was responding to, and didn't then look forward for his response.

Sorry that my post seemed cryptic. I thought the post I responded to was attached. Smart phone, dumb user.

Totally OT, but after looking at a link to a Cajun radio broadcast that someone posted earlier, I started listening to the station (I LOVE Cajun music-always have!) and heard a recording by the late Johnny Janot that I think is absolutely charming and touching about the old Cajun way of life. The words are as follows:
I'm Proud To Be A Cajun!

Yes, I'm proud to be a Cajun because of the way I was raised; and it's a very important part of my life. It is a way of life that is a blend of mystery, love, pride, and tradition. Trying to explain it to someone who knows nothing of the Cajun culture would be difficult. So much of it is carried in one's heart and mind; and it's so hard to put into words. But perhaps a few of these things might help to explain; and it will certainly bring a picture to mind to anyone who has been raised the way I have.

It's watching my grandmother rock in the evenings while the black rosary beards slip through her work-worn hands. It's the sight of acres and acres of lush green rice; and it's the smell of chopped green onions, parsley, and bell pepper in a pot of gumbo simmering. It's watching my mama make the sign of the cross and saying prayers over a sprained ankle or snake bite. They call it treating, and I've seen it work. It's the sound of tires crunching on a gravel road. It's the soft melody of my parents conversing in the age old dialect. It's seeing Nan and Peecat sitting on their front porch and knowing that they will always be there. But one day, they're not; and you realize that something precious is slipping away. It's a wedding dance where money is pinned to the bride's veil and the groom's suit for the privilege of dancing with them. And it's staying up all night at the funeral home because you don't leave the dead by themselves. This is the last thing you can do for them. And it's grown men and women calling their parents mama and daddy and not being ashamed of it. And it's a gigantic feast at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The men eat first so they can nap and the women eat last so they can talk before putting everything away. And it's the sweet sea smell of boiling crawfish and crabs. And it's watching my grandfather, straight and tall, going to the French dances. It's the solemn sound of the big church bell towing once for every life of the loved one passed away. It's watching mama and Aunt Willie stuff long casings with a rich boudin mixture; and it's the sweet smell of strong brewed coffee and homemade bread. It's my daddy working all day in the garden with his back straight as he hoes row after row. It's tombstones shadowed by moss covered oaks, all white-washed and ready for All Saints Day. It's the wonderful sound of Soodie, "will you be my baby's Nanny?"

Yeah, it's kind of hard to explain; but, again, it's a pride and love that I carry in my mind and heart. It's a wonderful race of people, and it makes me sad to see so much of it fading away. I just hope I can preserve enough of it to pass on to my own children; and they, like me, will be proud to be a Cajun; 'cause, after all, Cajuns are tough. We're made of good stuff. Life may be rough; but we're gonna make it, sure enough!

OT but is anyone local following the Keiosha Felix story? For those not familiar, it's eerily similar that someone has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and rape, but she is still nowhere to be found. (Her aunt, her aunt's boyfriend, and cousin have all been arrested in connection with the case. How sad is that?!)

I very seriously doubt it was miabella's still you saw, because it was so grainy
posters were not even sure what kind of truck it was... The stills she had actually came from a video that was a few seconds long... So, if what you saw was extremely grainy and difficult to even make out what you were looking at, it might have been hers... Jmo

Are you referring to the still from the video that she (miabella?) claimed she took on her phone the night Mickey was abducted? I remember people asking her repeatedly to post the entire video and I don't believe she ever did.

That's what I posted earlier in reverse going from Lafayette to I10 E.
Hwy 105 turns into P3-95. You really dont need to turn onto any other street from Krotz Springs or WB, it's all one road, 3/4ths of the way is gravel.

The only reSon I can see him going to 190 is if he went home first.

here's an area to ponder

assuming he took 190 to get to Whiskey Bay rather than i10, he may have got off 190 at 105 then took this little street called Frank Diesi that has NOTHING on it and seems to be a dirt road surrounded by trees. He would have then got back on 105 which turns into
Par3-95 and drove it to i10 getting up on the onramp of exit 121/Butte LaRose. From there he would have driven 6 miles to exit 127/Whiskey Bay or the route could have been reversed to Whiskey bay first via hwy 975 then from whiskey bay to exit 121 on so on

I'm mad that I didn't get to see that pic. I'm guessing it was aired only once then quickly vanished because LE didn't want him to see it before his arrest? The Advertiser must have included it in a news report 2 days or so before th arrest. Then LE went over there to review all film and found what they have. I guess they figured out a way to keep it from resurfacing because they want it locked down like the rest of their evidence.

this is my guess. what i don't understand is the way they made the advertiser footage seem so telling, but if they released a still of it and we didn't get wind of it on WS or anywhere, then it must not have been that telling (no bike or license plate)??

bbm: I have wondered, whatever is the evidence in the pic, if it must not be something pretty subtle -- or something that wouldn't have seemed so important until certain other of the puzzle pieces fell into place for LE -- because of the statement about them reviewing the footage several times before actually retrieving it.

I guess it is possible, too, that the Advertiser declined to give it up without a subpoena or something, but I would think, in this circumstance, that is unlikely.

ETA: Another possibility: If it did surface briefly in a local news report, as Chicken feels maybe it did, maybe someone who saw it tipped LE with something the viewer could/did recognize but LE as yet could/had not.

I thought about the old way as well but then how would he have brought the bike to WB? First? Another day? What are your thoughts on that?

I tried to post earlier today and it went "poof". I was one of the first to apply for a TWIC when it was made mandatory for going to docks servicing offshore drilling. I doubt he would be allowed to work offshore without one. You even need one just to enter most docks in Fourchon, Venice, etc. The card has a dime sized "chip" on the front side. The cajun net says it might be possible to track your exact location using GPS. Don't know if that's possible.

On another note concerning his routes the night of the crime. If he had any knowledge of the area he could have taken a "back way" to NOLA. A lot of offshore workers take Hwy. 90 to go to Venice via 90(NOLA). Ochsners is located right off of 90(Westbank Expressway).

Let me tell you why this may be. In the past there were two "clubs" located on Prarie Hwy(Lake Martin Road). It was known to have some rowdy individuals patronize them. Reason being, if he knew the area because of the clubs, he might have known the back way to 90. Once on Lake Martin Road( a very remote location with woods on both sides of the road-a woman was found dead at Lake Martin within the year I think killed by her own daughters) take Prairie Hwy. to S.M., to Loreauville, to 90, to NOLA.JMO :twocents:

And wow that the truck was captured at 3:25ish. That's an hour and a half in the area. I dont remember who posted it but the pulling behind the printer shop may not be too far off. the fact that the kidnapping charge and murder one charge are in the same jurisdiction shows that LE thinks Mickey was murdered in Laffy right? (Law is not my strong point so please correct me if this is not the case!) And I have heard from multiple locals about dogs catching scent around a printer. Does anyone know where this printer shop is located in relation to circle k and to daily advertiser?

I have saved the stills of the truck seen at 3:25am. Miabella posted them, correct? Were these on University?

Fwiw, I will never look at ANY dwt the same EVER again. I will forever hate them. Grrrr.

i already had a thing about DWT bc i was in college at LSU during DTL'S spree. i wouldnt even stay at a redlight late at night next to one bc i was that fearful.

BSL has reignited that fear in me again. i dont have a very busy job so i spend much of the time watching traffic. everytime i see one now, i say a prayer to st anthony for mickey. and im not even catholic!! :floorlaugh:

It really only makes sense to me that he went home first. I can't imagine that after such an energy-charged event he'd have been chomping at the bit to go to a hospital.

My guess is he had to clean and assess his injuries. I would think he never expected her to fight him like she did. I've spent some time thinking on this today, and she must have had a plan in place in the event something did happen. Even if she just carried mace, she must have thought about what she would do if she ever had to use it. I think she fought like hell, and it surprised him.

He had to have been shaken up. He had to have been a mess. I can only hope that had he showed up in an emergency room all those hours later looking the way he would have if he hadn't cleaned up, the police who were questioning would have been alerted, especially after such a flimsy story.

I don't think he will plea, but I do at least hope he put her somewhere she CAN be found...not in the Bay, for instance. It doesn't do anyone any good to have him get or take a plea if he cannot actually take them right to her. (Except for the stress of a trial, of course.)
