Maybe I will try to find out who to call. They will probably think I am a nut case since my daughter is almost 32 and they will probably wonder why I'm the one calling but I just can't help but think this could happen to any of our daughters. I guess that is why this case is bothering me so much. So close to home. Seems like no one was safe from the likes of BSL.

Don't worry! It takes more than knowing the right answer. It takes the willingness to act. My husband is former LE and he'd joke that I have a "criminal mind." I'd obviously never act on it, but I was probably more physically aware of my surroundings (ditto my property) because I "knew" how a crook thinks. (seriously, I just have an active imagination). Hubby also has a "criminal mind" which is what made him an excellent police officer.

So...maybe you have a reason to worry about yourself (your words --- which I doubt) or perhaps you have the ability to look are various scenarios and situations and see possibilities on which you personally would never act. The latter is a gift here on websleuths!

Oh my....appreciate the information! I have a background in Criminal Justice so that's what I'm attributing my answer to! That's my story & I'm stickin to it! 6 years Law Enforcement and then I became a Registered Nurse so..that's quite a combo :o)

Don't worry about them thinking you are a nutcase. I am sure they have gotten lots of crazy calls. Your question is not crazy at all and they will understand.

There is something that has been bothering me since I first heard that womans ids where found in the search. Maybe I'm just stressing too much but still worried. My daughter had been at Artmosphere during the days that MS had gone there also and another Bistro/club and my daughters DL has come up missing. She has no idea how as she has not lost her wallet or anything else. I just find it strange that if someone found the DL they would not drop it in a mailbox to the address on it. I just think I will kill over if I find out that her id was among his collection. She already thinks I am too overprotective. Just wish I knew how to find out if her id was in the mix.

After loosing my license at Artmosphere for the 3rd time, I finally realized how it happens. If you don't have cash to pay the cover, they hold your license until you can get it from a friend or from the bar I believe. Once you get in, you see people, yada yada and forget all about it. I've done this several times.

Lisa Pate was 35... not nuts at all!

There are so many trees, canals, forests, around his house.

Also, when i was on my way to his house, right down the road, i noticed a mail box that said "higginbotham" on an old beat up mail box, which had no house across the street anymore.

I know it was said BSL moved by Claire Higginbotham, was she around that area?
Because I thought she lived somewhere entirely different when he moved by her.

Might've just been the same last name of someone who lived close to him

Can't get it to link

Sorry, got it

I know the people who own these 3 houses and those are ponds behind the homes. I don't think that's a possible location as people are always home there and there are security lights. However just above this location (near the A on the map) there is an area where a truck could pull off and park unseen and walk into the dense woods or down under the little bridge to the waterway. I don't know why, but I've always felt like this could be "the" spot, even before BL was arrested. No reason to think so, just a feeling of mine.

ETA: Lavergne Rd is where the Frog City Speedway (dirt track racing) is and there are no houses on this road. That is the area I mentioned above where a truck could pull off and park unseen.

Adding: I also "think" LE was aware of BSL looking at new vehicles, perhaps even before the abduction- and this is why CS said via her fb page that the truck in the surveillance tapes may not be the EXACT truck they are looking for, but one like it. That statement told me a lot of information was being withheld from the public.

Just looked it up and she posted that on May 25th. The pic included with the post was the white truck that was later ruled out. It's possible they were on to BL early on, but I don't think it was that early. JMO. If I remember, statements from LE say they didn't get a tip about the BL/his truck until June 14th. But then I wonder if he was already on their radar and the tips called in later confirmed their suspicions? I tend to believe they had seen the footage from the Advertiser camera (or maybe even others we don't know about) and were zeroing in on the truck and BL early on, just not sure how early. JMO.

I have that same book. That really was a time back then! Everyone was looking for a white guy, right up to the wire, then bam! DNA showed it was a black guy. I'm so glad that reign of terror is over.

'Ionically, MamaRoux, the DNA technology was available during DTL's reign of terror to narrow down the ethnicity of the suspect. It simply was not released to the public due to the antiquated strategy of silence by LE, which has caused many innocent victims lives and mounting cold cases, imo..

Maybe you are worrying too much about it. Get your daughter to call LE. She's a grown woman. Maybe she dropped it somewhere, put it in a pants pocket, left it somewhere when writing a check. There's other possibilities to what could have happened to it. Not so sure anyone would mail
it to her if they found it. And since they don't have phone numbers on the
many people would not bother to look for a number.

Even if by some strange chance he did have it, BSL
is currently locked up and doesn't have anyone's ID. Do some
Deep breathing exercises and chill. If you live in fear because of
BSL you are allowing yourself to be another victim of his control. Nothing has happened to you or your daughter.Take a deep breath in and let out a big sigh of relief! :)

I just got back from going there. It is totally abandoned, and where there isn't shell parking/driving area, the grass is overgrown. There are alot of Pipes, I would say you could crawl into. I drove around and some of the small buildings are open and windows broken. One looks like a security building (small) like to check IDs when driving in. It is not blocked you can drive all around in there. I didn't get out of my car, I was alone, because I couldn't get my husband to go with me. There was a building in the front on the left side, driving in, it looked like it was in good repair. But it hasn't been used for years I would say. There were alot of spots that I thought no one would think of looking into. I was too scared to go look by myself. I did get out to check a dumpster that is sitting across from the main office. Nothing at all in there, thank god! I also went across the highway and pulled in to see if I could get to the three pits, but both acess points were gaited and chained. But there is a large over grown coolie (dranage ditch) right after the access road to the pits.
Oh, and also there is NO lighting at all there at night. It is completely dark, as I have been by there late at night.

Wow you are brave for checking that out! I would have been scared to death! Do you think it'd be appropriate to notify the PI of this area? I think it's a great place for a search due to location/convenience to BL and the seclusion.

When BSL went for his quarterly RSO evaluation, nine days after the abduction, LE obviously had no clue to the suspect in Mickey Schunick's abduction. Only a VOI of interest. Until the two public tips, LE was at square one, imo..and would still be today if not for an aware public..

Stranger on stranger sexual predator abductions are the most difficult to solve...

my goodness there is a LOT of forest in CP! that does look like a likely spot. i'm guessing they searched this area since it's his hometown??

Ya know you can specialize in forensic nursing these days?

I think it was a clear view of a violent/subduing act or a scuffle.
Seems like it was this video or what they found in the house that gave them enough to charge murder one....or the DNA evidence from the bike/wb came in about the same time.

Since they had the video before the house search I think it has clear and damming evidence.

[In reference to what is on the TDA footage] I disagree. LE viewed the footage a good while before they went back to pick it up. I think if something obvious was in it such as MS or bike in truck or a scuffle, LE would've picked the tape as soon they saw it. I think the footage showed the license plate.

I thought that looked like a racetrack for go-carts or something. Thanks!

Boudin, imo you can't worry to much about the safety of your family. BSL, is not the first, last, or only...

Awareness is the key..Proper training in crime scene investigations of LE, DNA laws, education, pre abduction plans by LE including mutual aide, transparency, and looking out for our neighbors is paramount to reducing the tragic effects of the silent epidemic of missing/murdered persons across the USA>..

speaking of forests, i was looking into Sheburne Forest. It's 44,000 acres:what:

the following is snipped from this website
http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2763

"Ground cover is sparse, in areas, due to shading out and prolonged inundation. In those areas where habitat improvement, in the way on timber management, has taken place, the ground cover is very dense and provides excellent habitat for many species of game and non-game species. Common species found include rattan, greenbriar, rubus, trumpet creeper, virginia creeper, poison ivy, and milkweed. Much of the area supports a lush stand of fern."

This area seems promising once hunting season starts. 44,000 acres is alot of land, but on foot he couldn't have made it too far in with his wounds, so when the hunters get out there once the weather cools, maybe they will find something??

JMO-
BSL lives at least 7 miles north of the town of CP. There ate miles and
miles of dirt and gravel roads, fields, woods, barns, etc around. To me it doesn't make much sense for him to drive 35 minutes in to CP from Lafayette to the old refinery coming in to CP. Also there is a road that goes down by the refinery, St Raphael, and there are a few houses on it.

I'm starting to wonder if he didnt take Mickey out to near his Duson property, fought with her, disposed of her, hid the bike, went to his moms six miles away(maybe had a key), showered and slept, maybe gave her some BS story, then got up and went to NO
