Held against their will could mean 5 mins or days I guess.
Hate the thought of them being held.

Explaining why the death penalty is wanted, the filing claims that the murders were committed "in an especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel manner" and that Lavergne has "knowingly killed two or more persons" in separate incidents.

"Two or more". This is subtle but screams loud

If BSL, told LE that he was mugged/stabbed at a gas station and spent hours driving NOLA looking for a hospital. It is doubtful that he would have wore a clean change of clothes, but would have wore the clothes from the alleged attack; props...Hopefully the detectives confiscated his clothing wore during the ruse...Time will tell..

The hospital probably gave him a paper scrub shirt to wear and offered to put his bloodied shirt in a bag for him to take home but he said it was ruined so they could just throw it away. If it had Mickeys blood on
it no-one would have been the wiser.

*The DA's Office outlines what they think happened:
The court record filed by the DA's office claims the following information is fact: On or about July 3, 1999, Lavergne met Lisa Pate in Lafayette Parish. It is alleged Pate was persuaded or forced to another location, where she was forced, for her release, to "engage in non-consensual acts, and/or inflicted physical injury, and/or sexual abuse upon Lisa Pate." The document says Lavergne killed Pate and moved the evidence, including the body, "with the intent to distort the results of the criminal investigation."

I've heard very early on in the investigation that LE told a fraternity member that it happened on Coliseum.

It's been mentioned here before that the area around the Printing Services building looked like a prime spot for such a thing to take place.

I passed by there today. After making a right off of St. Landry Ext., it struck me how completely isolated those two barns are. They would, at ~2AM, provide excellent cover for any sort of nefarious activities. Really unsettling, frankly.

On or about May 19, 2012, Lavergne forcibly seized Mickey Shunick and carried her to another place where he refused to release her. It is alleged Lavergne "forced her to engage in non-consensual acts, and inflicted physical injury and/or sexual abuse". The document says Lavergne killed Mickey and moved evidence of the murder, including her body and belongings, "to locations with the intent to distort the results of the criminal investigation." Lavergne is also accused of obstruction of justice and the continued tampering of the body of Mickey Shunick. The state also adds that anyone knowing where Mickey's body may be could be charged with Accessories After the Fact.

What?? continued tampering of the body? I wonder what this could be/mean? Further moving it's location? Also a statement about if anyone knows where she is they could be an accessory, I think that screams loudly as well!!!

This is exactly what everyone on this site has been screaming for.... We all wanted to know what they had against him to hold up the charges. Sure we don't know every mundane detail, but we know LE has been working on piecing this puzzle together. I don't see him slipping out of the noose. This pretty much seals his fate. I never get home before 10 but tonite I did oddly, turned on the TV and it was perfect timing. I'm always a day late, a dollar short.

Can we NOW finally stop saying she is under the FWT on St Landry road? Please?

The state says Lavergne purchased an identical truck on June 4, 2012 in Lafayette, and in the process, altered his ID to hide the "sex offender" label on his license. Lavergne is also accused of contacting an official at the DMV, offering $500 to get an ID without the "sex offender" label.

Our contact about the car dealership employee was in fact correct. Thank you to her! And also, new info about he was really trying hard to get that sex offender off his license! lol. I wonder if he was trying so hard now in an attempt to not get caught in the MS investigation or why he was trying so hard to get that RSO status gone?

I know what you mean! I am not psychic in any way but I keep having a dream where Mickey comes to me while I am driving and says to tell her mom that she is in a town that's name has something to do with ketchup and then she shows me a yellow and green store.

Of course, it is just a strange dream but it was weird. Funny how the mind plays tricks.

All that comes to mind from your dream is Tabasco (rather than Ketchup). Maybe Avery Island or New Iberia?? Just thought I'd toss that out there

Really, I mean how could she have inflicted those injuries to him if she had been under the DWT.

Wow we always wondered if he held them. Since the kidnapping and murder charges are in the same parish does that mean they believe she was killing in Lafayette? Isn't his home in another parish? So would that mean he would have had to take her somewhere other than his home?

I think what is important to realize here is these documents do state held but do not state that they were abducted on a specified date then subsequently murdered on a different date.

The documents basically state that on a certain date both women were taken against their will and murdered on those dates.

In that article just posted, it seems to me they are saying BSL is charged with continuing to tamper with Mickey's remains. It seems to me they think someone else is helping him hide her..?
