I see posts from about an hour ago that there was a standoff at his house? Was that incorrect? Were they just maybe searching his house carefully out of an abundance of caution and that's why they cleared the area?

I saw a tweet (can't find the link now) from a reporter. She said she knocked on the door of his last known address and the person that opened it had an AK gun.

I am trying to get caught up on the thread but wanted to comment on this. As a woman of color, she maybe would have felt safer ducking down in that car than running out in the open during an incident like this.

I'm writing to express that this is the last straw for me.
I can't help the way I feel.
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I've remained silent and have not made one single post regarding the recent killings of LE.

I am posting extremely carefully as I don't want this thread shut down.
The Dallas shootings thread is still closed to my knowledge.
I've taken note that the horrific events that transpired in Texas this month are permitted to be discussed on other threads.

I am writing from my heart.
I think that this vicious hateful crime could have been avoided if drastic actions had been taken after the shootings in Dallas.
I hope that my post is permitted to remain unedited.
My motive and intent are explained below.

Should we impose martial law nationwide?
I detest the idea, it's against everything that I have believed in since I was old enough to understand the value of our Constitution.
I cherish and highly value living in a democratic society.

At this point however; in order to save lives, I am willing to forgo my rights as a US citizen temporarily.

It's "open season" on LE. That is a fact and cannot be rationally disputed.
Stop the enabling, stop the excuses, stop the justifications, stop the hate, stop the resentment.

All I can do is to send my prayers to the loved ones; the victims of these hate filled shootings.
I'm so very sorry that you are suffering.

(You know, cops might might have to be More Agressive now? If they thought shooting cops is the answer, they only put them more on the defensive now, because now more than ever with these active threats and attacks...)

(Eta: hope that came out okay and made sense having a hard time expressing what I mean.)

They sure need to come out on the streets during all of these protests with full riot gear protection on especially in Cleveland. I couldn't believe me hears when a reporter was talking to the Cleveland police detective today and he said this administration has taken back all the military equipment in many of these cities that they once had and needed to protect themselves. I guess he means armored vehicles and maybe other high powered military weapons.

No police officer no matter where they serve should be without full protective gear including helmets.

In addition to NPD as :shamrock:eyes posted, he likely wanted notoriety, infamy, being some kind of a "hero"/martyr to his followers..same reason some msm purposely refrain from naming their mass shooters, bc that's exactly what they want. But it's part of the process, of trying to understand possible motives/psychology....I mean how are we supposed to not talk about him...

(O/T, thinking out loud, but is our NOCO shooter military, or ex military too? We've always wondered, now I wonder more.)

From what I've read, police went to the shooters home in K.S and there is someone inside with a gun. It appears to be a standoff at this point. It's been going on for several hours.

This perhaps is a way-out-there idea, I fully admit, but I am wondering if there is a spurred love interest that is going to be revealed. Was he trying to impress a woman? Was he recently rejected? Proving his manliness?

I have nothing to base this one...just a hunch.

Good question! How'd he publish a book? Where was he making a living? What was he doing to make money? How did he have the funds to travel extensively throughout the US & other countries?
