Thursday, Crimestoppers GNO announced 2 people were wanted for questioning in connection to the case.

NOPD is seeking 56-year-old Etienne Defelice and 43-year-old Michael Hearty as the persons of interest in the missing person investigation.

Reports show that 44-year-old Becky Hendrix was reported missing on January 19.

According to law enforcement, Defelice and Hearty are not sought on criminal charges at the moment, but police believe the individuals could have information on her whereabouts.

Logically, if Hearty ("Tricky Albert") is innocent and has nothing to do with Becky's disappearance, then why not walk into the NOPD and have the interview with the detectives? If he's innocent, then perhaps NOPD would rule him out as a potential POI.

The more he delays meeting with NOPD simply casts a brighter spotlight on him and raises more questions about his possible role in her disappearance. MOO.

MSM reports indicate both Hearty and Defelice are wanted for questioning, but I'm still not clear on who Defelice is and how he might be related to Becky's disappearance.

As mentioned in this thread, Becky lived with Heartly on Iberville St. so they clearly knew each other, but until about a week ago I had never heard of Etienne Defelice.

Did Becky know this man? Is he possibly a known friend of Hearty and/or Benjamin Beale? Could he be the owner of the house on Iberville Street? I'm not clear on how he fit's into this investigation.

Yes, if Defelice is wanted for questioning LE must have a lead of some kind. We'll have to see what the possible connection between Becky and Defelice might be. Might be nothing, but could be something...

Do we know if either Michael Hearty or Etienne Defelice have voluntarily given interviews to the NOPD yet? Both are wanted for questioning in Becky's disappearance, but last I knew neither had done so.

ETA: The notice by NOPD that both were wanted for questioning was released over a week ago. Sure that is enough time for both men to schedule interviews with NOPD? MOO.

As of yesterday Hearty and since the person of interest report hearty has contact NOPD via email that he would come in with an attorney but as I said as of yesterday he has not scheduled an interview and has not been in. As for Defelice they have not heard from him. Hearty was bragging on his FB page that he was cooperating with LE but emails saying he would come in but has never done so does not prove he is cooperating. Hearty was bragging on his FB page that he was going to California to look for Becky. Sounds like he is planning on running if he hasn’t done so already. I am more convinced that he knows a lot and needs to talk.

It's interesting that there's a crowdfunding page for ED from 2017. From the comments he sounds like a great guy who would help others, what's changed that in these 5 years? It's time for him to speak up.

Karen, thanks for the update. Can you tell us Etienne Defelice's possible involvement in Becky's disappearance? Does Becky know him or is he a friend of Hearty's?

The fact that both Michael Hearty and Etienne Defelice are publicly wanted by LE for questioning, but apparently neither of them have allowed themselves to be interviewed by NOPD, is very suspicious. MOO

NOPD has been wanting to speak with Hearty for well over a month, but from what we're hearing this meeting has not actually taken place. Seems hard to believe that in all of this time Hearty has not had an opportunity to walk in to the NOPD and give them information regarding Becky's disappearance. If he has nothing to hide and is innocent of any wrongdoing in Becky's disappearance, then why not meet with NOPD? IMO it would be the logical thing to do.

Etienne aka EJ lived in Hearty's band's music studio beginning sometime in Spring of 2021 to the best of my knowledge. Had never known of him before. They are friends. EJ was selling meth out of there. They were all homeless and illegally living in the studio. Hearty would also routinely bring prostitutes there which caught the attention of other tenants and management to the point that they thought they were using it for a studio. Yeah nothing redeeming about him. Literally no one with a brain buys that he's been cooperative but can't seem to find time to get down to the police department. They will gladly come pick him up and give him a ride!

It's her car that gets me. Her being missing... sadly there are ways to hide her. But the car. Thats harder. I always say when a car is missing with a person, the car is the most important to be on the lookout for. What did they do with her car??

Beale still had Julia's car until January 7th, so they would have possibly had a friendly ride on the 6th. Hearty also mentioned at a separate time in January of 2021 that he knew of a chop shop to get rid of cars. If there is no other camera footage of the vehicle, the vehicle could potentially be hidden or chopped within the perimeter of further cameras. New Orleans and Louisiana both have extensive camera systems.

A Facebook user who identified herself as Dardar’s mother-in-law posted that she helped her son pick up Dardar’s car and other belongings from Beale’s house on Jan. 5, the same day Beale was interrogated.

There are some inconsistencies in the news reports. Beale and his mother said the car and Julia's belongings could be picked up after the first of the year if Julia didn't turn up. Finally, on the 5th of January, he said the car could be picked up but "not today" because he had stuff to do. The car was picked up on the evening of January 7th with most of Julia's belongings packed into it and brought directly to the police station. They are still holding it as evidence. Before Beale was arrested, he was supposed to turn over more of Julia's property that he had gathered, but that never happened, and his mother is now refusing to communicate or cooperate. So, he did still have possession of the car on January 6th.

Yes that would be good to know for sure. I would suspect Hearty may have had access to multiple phones, but that is MOO.

Speaking of phones, this link says that Beale didn't report Julia Dardar as missing because he had 'lost his cell phone' and had no way to contact the police:

IMO Beale's statement here is highly questionable and misleading. Even if you did lose your cell phone there are any number of other ways to contact LE if you wanted to.
