Hurricane Isaac left defense attorneys unable to prepare for the trial, which had been scheduled for September 4th. The trial is now set to begin on October 2nd.

Bama fan pleads guilty to lesser charges of obscenity

Prosecutors said he pleaded guilty to two counts of obscenity in a deal reached Tuesday morning before the scheduled start of trial.


WWL-TV in New Orleans reports the deal calls for him to be sentenced to two years in jail. State District Judge Karen Herman set sentencing for Nov. 29.

I wonder what he'll say when the other inmates ask him "wadda ya in for"? I would suggest that he lies and says he got caught robbing a bank.

I don't agree with the fact that victim is also suing the establishment though...

I'm not saying you're wrong in your opinion zippitydoda, but why do you think the victim shouldn't sue the establishment? They hold some responsibility. When you see a mob attacking a single person (whether it be physical or sexual) you have an obligation to put a stop to it in my opinion. Just like those people that stood around and watched should have. I know it might not be a legal obligation but it certainly is a moral one.

Alabama fan gets 2 years for sexual battery against LSU fan

An Alabama man got a dressing-down and two years in prison for rubbing his genitals on an unconscious LSU fan in a Bourbon Street burger restaurant after the BCS national title game in January.

State District Judge Karen Herman told Brian Downing of Smiths Station, Ala., that he's a bully who has permanently damaged someone else's life.
