I hope none of the people discussed in these article gets these children. None of them deserve them because they have already failed the children once. When it comes to children, you shouldn't get a second chance. I just pray that they go to a real home where they will be loved and treasured and not passed around or traded like they are nothing.

52-year-old Donna Louise Greenwell has received 30-month hard labor for two counts of sale of a minor after trying to sell two children for a bird and some money.

According to the Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court's Office, Greenwell will begin serving her sentence March 25th after pleading guilty to two counts of sale of a minor.

According to the Associated Press, Greenwell was accused of selling a 4-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy, both of whom were in Greenwell's care after their biological parents had left them with her.

The couple who purchased the children were also charged.

First of all, who would leave children with a friend of a friend that you didn't really know?

Ummm, is the mother (used loosely), not being charged with abandonment?

I can NOT believe how stupid some people truly are!! If the children are abandoned to your care, turn the over to the police, don't SELL them!!!

I am ashamed to say that I live in the same state that this crime took place.

30 months hard labor - she will be out in less than 15 months. I do hope she will 'be taken care of' in prison. I think she will be at is St. Gabriel just south of Baton Rouge. St. Gabriel is the women's prison. I have transported women to that prison several times. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate.

There are some really tough Mamas there that do love their children and will love to find out about this woman. It will not be pretty.

In Louisiana when judges sentence females to 'hard labor' they generally mean St. Gabriel which is the state prison for women.
