Absolutely... ElainerA ... Very disturbing, horrified by the lost then terrified of the senseless actions. It can happen to anyone we read it all the time on WS. Prayers go up for Mr Poche and his family.

Howard Poche’s housekeeper charged in connection with his murder

Deputies have charged the housekeeper of an elderly man, who went missing on Christmas Day, in connection with his murder.

Captain Wendell Raborn said 45-year-old Michele L. King, of Jeanerette, was charged with principal to first-degree murder.

A church-goer found King inside Poche’s home cleaning up a “significant amount of blood,” according to Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal.

Poor Howard. I really hate to see the elderly as victims. [emoji20]

Death penalty still on table for Jeanerette murder suspect
Prosecutors are so far keeping the death penalty on the table in the first-degree murder case of Jeffery Marks, who's accused in the death of an elderly Jeanerette man found dead in a garbage can.

Marks, who's been jailed without bond since his Dec. 28 arrest in Howard Poche's slaying, appeared in Iberia Parish court Thursday morning for a scheduled preliminary examination hearing. A judge was set to determine whether there's enough evidence to keep Marks detained in the murder, but the hearing didn't happen.

Another person was charged last month.

Coroner: Jeanerette man found in garbage can died from blunt force trauma

Authorities this week made a fourth arrest in the case, booking Roy Verret, 51, on a count of first-degree murder. He remained in the Iberia Parish jail on Friday without bail.

Poche murder suspect’s trial set

Jeffery Marks, 23, of Jeanerette, is charged with home invasion, armed robbery and manslaughter in the death of Howard Poche, to which he has pled not guilty. The state of Louisiana is pursuing non-capital punishment against Marks.

A trial date was scheduled for Oct. 16 at the Iberia Parish Courthouse

The charges against Marks were downgraded and I believe the charges against Rogers have been dropped.
