Also, for you locals is there mullet fishing in Bay St Louis? The reason I ask is those boats are unusual in that they have a big storage box in the center and are pretty wide. A boat like that would go un noticed if that sort of fishing is common.

I know, just thinking out loud.

I still feel strongly about MAS and TS getting paid to bring her to a solicitor and getting out of dodge.

I just want to interject an important point. Everyone is, of course, wondering what ruse was used to lure Jaren away. Here is an important point. TS had reportedly worked in the French Quarter as a doorman, barker or something like that. So he was part of the "in" crowd. He was supposed to be a good guy, a safe guy who looked out for the girls.

He might have creeped me or you out with his looks but odd looking people are a dime a dozen in the Quarter. Lots of great people with the hugest hearts may look odd and work in the Quarter.

Many of the workers in the French Quarter have a bond and even hang out together after work. The guys often walk the girls safely to their cars. The guys who work with the girls in the places in the Quarter are seen as "safe". They are supposed to be the good guys. And for the Quarter? Well honey, TS actually fairly normal looking compared to some of the colorful people of the FQ!

So Jaren may not have really seen him as a threat, especially if he had his girlfriend with him. Now based upon the report that allegedly one girl says they tried to pick her as a "treat" for him and even offer another story and $700 dollars. She turned them down and so they had to go to plan B.

So if the first girl said "no" to their request, wouldn't they change it up a bit for the next person. Maybe make it less threatening and more profit? Maybe make just a friendly overture for a ride home so she didn't have to wait for a cab and pay for it. I am sure the cab fare each day was not cheap. So that might be an incentive. Just a casual ride home between friends could have been enough.

If the first girl is telling him the truth and had turned him down then that might have made TS mad. Maybe he was going to make sure the next one (Jaren) did not have the chance to reject him. After all, the other girl looked at him and turned him down. Sex offenders and perverts don't like rejection. So they had to make sure they got the next one. Maybe MS knew she had better come thru in getting his "treat".

So the lure could have been as simple as a ride home. Telling Jaren that they would give her ride home if she could leave then. Who wouldn't want to go home early from work? I don't think it was a busy night. So think about it. Jaren could work another half hour and maybe not even make enough in that time to make it worth working that extra half hour and then pay for a cab. Why not skip the few extra bucks she might make and eliminate the cost of a cab and get home early from work? Sounds like a win for me. I would be tempted, especially if it was co-workers asking me, not just a single guy but a guy and a girl that I knew.

So we can all come up with wild ideas on what it took to lure her but it could have been simple. Maybe they offered her a chance to dye their hair and they would pay her big money. Maybe they just said lets go eat and then we will drop you off. Maybe they offered to bring her by walmart to pick up some stuff before going home to her fiancé. After all, Jaren didn't have a car so that would be a bonus. Save the cab fare and get things she and her fiancé may have needed at the motel.

So yeah, maybe they lured her with the promise of big money. They could have said they wanted her to do their hair and they would pay her good money. That's innocent enough, right? No obvious danger there, right? Maybe they said she could make more money doing their hair in an hour rather than staying in the club, plus would get a free ride home.

Ok so I know this was a long post and I appreciate you staying and reading this far in it. I don't rule out that they offered something less innocent than a ride and quick cash for dying their hair. Heck they could have said something stupid like $1000 dollars to dance at a bachelor party for an hour. "Hey, come surprise this groom, the girl who was supposed to dance got sick. It's only an hour and it will be well worth your while. It’s strictly dancing and it pays good."

I am not in denial and saying Jaren was completely without flaws and never did anything wrong. We all screw up and do things we are less than proud of. I’d hate to be a victim of murder and then have millions of people judge my life and my choices. Wow, you just don't know how I would hate that and all my history contains is being a school teacher, librarian and first responder. But i would hate to have my life and choices scrutinized. No matter what, she didn't deserve this, she didn't bring this on herself in any way shape or form. We've all made questionable choice or took a risk and were dang lucky that we came thru it OK. She was young and young people just don't always think that something bad will happen to them. Don't those things always happen to OTHER people?

I'm just tossing the possibility into the arena that it could have just been something was quite innocent that convinced her to go. After all, she is the victim here. Wild guesses about sordid activities aren't helping ease her family any. They have seen a lot of those. The truth will come out soon enough and I will wait for that in this matter.

No offense to anyone's theories at all. We are all just trying to figure out what happened because we care and want justice. The thing is that Jaren hasn't been linked to any escort activity or extracurricular stuff like that. She had a steady man that she loved and he absolutely loved her as well. This has to be killing him. I think often of how much pain he must be in, especially people speculating and pretty much concluding that must have been going to do something really sordid.

Sure she could have used extra money but maybe more than that she was just a sweet girl who had a friend ask a favor (come dye my hair and makeup, give me a makeover, help me with this personal problem, etc). Maybe she just wanted to help a friend. Remember how sex offenders will use a "lost puppy" as a ruse to approach kids and disarm them (aww a lost puppy, we have to help, he could get hurt and need to be found, who can resist a puppy?). Who among us hasn’t gone out on a limb to help a friend?

This map confuses me - so they are searching and using sonar currently at Long Beach? But wouldn't her body have been dumped WEST of all of those locations marked on the map? Are they assuming that more body parts and a possible weapon would now have traveled further east - hence searching long beach? Sorry for my confusion!

The pinned locations are areas where body parts came ashore. I personally assumed the parts were put in the water most likely somewhere west of BSL and drifted n/ne with the water current/movement. I can't really say what authorities are thinking ... from the wording in the article it appears they may be searching for a weapon (maybe other body parts). Apparently they are going to start at the LB pier and work their way back towards where the parts washed onshore. Not sure though what makes them believe the weapon would be in that area.

Here is my theory. MAS and TS are out and about the FQ getting wasted. MAS has such an inferior complex about herself , she will do anything to please TS. It is a fact he has a perverted pervasion about him. He's high and wants some sexual conquest. MAS is anemic looking and does not appeal to him sexually, he is only using her for his gain. So he convinces her he loves her but a threesome would be the way to prove her love.

The first two attempts by her desperate self fail, so he thinks about Jaren, a girl who he has fooled into thinking he is a good guy. He approaches her about some faux party with promises of money and since she has talked to him previously and gotten good vibes from him goes along............

1. Is there always a desk clerk at the hotel? Could she have slipped by?
2. How could Jaren get from Kenner back to the hotel? Could she have been grabbed by someone in route to the hotel? Is there public transportation between Kenner and the hotel? Why wouldn't she call bf then and tell him she was on her way home?
3. I'm just asking questions out loud just so we don't get stuck looking in one direction.

i am hopeful that the truth will eventually be known in this case due to the fact that there is a woman involved. she looks weak and easier to break than Terry. They said she cried all day in court. We have to remember that Terry is most likely the killer and Margaret a weak easily brainwashed type. Also, her avoiding the Mississippi police who want to interview her screams GUILTY. We all know NOLA PD are not the friendliest and are, well, a little shady for lack of a better word. They will do whatever they have to to get Margaret to talk, even if it's unethical.

I don't think they lead JL out to party at all. I think there was an argument about possibly things JL knew and maybe had told MAS she knew. Who in turn told TS . That is why I think they went there with one thing in mind.IMHO

Just wanted to interject my thoughts. I have been lurking on this story for a couple of days now. First, I want to confess. I am ashamed to say my first reaction was " Well, that's the French Quarter for ya, not surprised. "

Now I feel like beautiful Jaren was my sister. I feel so bad for her brother because I have a little sister and I support her no matter her decisions in life. I know he felt he was her protector and now she is gone and he probably feels some guilt for not being there.

While I do have some theories on the crime itself, my main reason for finally posting on this story was to show support for her family. No matter her lot in life, Jaren seemed to be the kind of person to make the best of it and look to the future for hope. I truly grieve for the little girl she left behind.

Great Post!! THANK YOU! It's one of those ones that I read and feel such relief because you get it. Thanks so much for those words. I am sure they will mean a lot to her family and friends and I will pass them along to her brother in law, though he may come and read them here himself.

I know many of her friends and family are overwhelmed and dealing with everything and cant read every post. I know I am having a hard time keeping up and I am home all day and free to spend most of my time online.

I think I will find some posts that really spoke to me and copy them and pass them along (if that is ok and permissible).

I don't think it was "willful infidelity". I think Jaren loved her daughter so and wanted better things in life for her that she was too trusting of a douchebag that hoodwinked her into thinking he was trustworthy

I agree. Dancer does not automatically mean hooker.

Jaren had been with her boyfriend for a long time. He was alarmed when she didn't come home. That tells me that having sex for money wasn't her typical pattern.

A party, maybe. I'm not buying sex for money. Men will pay for dancers, that's pretty obvious.

Jaren was very attractive & might have been able to make more money as an escort for conventioneers, but she didn't. She danced.

Out of all the people who've stopped by here and shared stories, there hasn't been a single hint of sex-for-money.

As far as "driving" to Mississippi--a lot of people commute between MS and LA. You'll see almost as many LA tags in Harrison and Hancock counties as you do MS tags. Especially traveling Hwy. 90. I don't find the possibility of them driving here farfetched, especially since the sites being checked for remains is along a route well traveled between NOLA and MS.

I wonder if the two have some history of visiting that part of Mississippi. If they drove to Mississippi specifically for disposal, they either had a spot in mind from a previous visit to the area or drove down the road until they saw opportunity and then stopped at some random spot. If they visited there in the past, that information might appear on their FB pages. I assume that LE would still have access to their deleted pages and all of the status updates. If they posted something like, "casino hopping in BSL" it would certainly be a clue. So that's what is on my mind right now.
