Found Deceased LA - Jessica Easterly Durning, 43, New Orleans, 14 Aug 2019

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is it water or a road under the overpass? I tried to enlarge the picture but it was hard to tell?

@TheNightWatchman Thanks for copying that report out. The link itself not readable in UK.

Thank you for posting this. Finally it’s in the news. Sounds like all of it is still under investigation. I’m still at a loss of how she was in such an “advanced state of decomposition” that it took this long to ID her. I know we’re talking about August in New Orleans, but still. She had only been missing a few days when they found her.

RIP Jessica.

I wondered that too, after just barely 8 days, would a body be that decomposed? But I suppose open to the elements without any cover, and whatever the temperature is in New Orleans in mid August (hot, I inagine), it may likely be.

Maybe something was done to her body to cause decomp to escalate faster. JMO

@KayElJay Hi. How do we get the header changed please, to 'Found Deceased'?

One of my former college roommate’s husband (say that five times fast) is an investigative reporter with the CBS news station in New Orleans. She and I are still very close so I would be willing to call and ask her if she felt comfortable with me speaking to her husband about Jessica’s case.

I have some reservations because I feel as if a lot of information is known but not being released (possibly for privacy reasons) and there might be a lot going on behind the scenes but nothing can be hurt by asking.
There is a wealth of information not being shared.

I’ve changed the title and moved her thread with a redirect. I got so wrapped up into reading as much about Jessica and NO that I could, that I completely overlooked it. Sorry, & thank you for pointing it out.

Thank you!

Hypothetically, what would do that?
That's what we have to research.
Waiting on decomp info on weather at time of disposal maybe a chemical?

Google map of the intersection of Orleans and Kenilworth (looking from underneath the bridge on Orleans with Kenilworth on the right hand side that T's there) . It's an overpass so there is road underneath which looks to lead to both the water plant (?) there, as well as railroad track further down (?). There are tall walls around the water, so it does not appear there was any way to get a body into the water. So, IMO it seems she was somewhere under the overpass bridge, or somewhere by the railroad track. Still so odd that she was so close and still not found until a week later. Perhaps someone more familiar with the area can give insight as to what kind of area that is, is it busy (people in and out of the facility there, etc.). Doesn't seem the kind of place I would choose to walk to, doesn't seem like there is much going on there.... This case nags at me.... P.S. the google map was giving me a really hard time if I tried to 'walk' towards what looks like tankers on a train track so I couldn't verify what it actually is there).

While the rate of human decomposition varies due to several factors, including weather, temperature, moisture, pH and oxygen levels, cause of death and body position, all human bodies follow the same four stages of human decomposition.

24-72 hours after death — the internal organs decompose.

3-5 days after death — the body starts to bloat and blood-containing foam leaks from the mouth and nose.

8-10 days after death — the body turns from green to red as the blood decomposes and the organs in the abdomen accumulate gas.

You’re very observant.

Jessica was reported missing on the 14th and located on the 22nd. These were the temperatures during that time:

It’s pretty terrible in NOLA that month of the year, extra high humidity paired with those temps

I do find it obscene that both of Jessica's working name Twitter sites, with her photo on, is still being used and operated. Surely this isn't right.
