Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office searching for missing man

Joe Gordon Ray Jr., 38, of Independence, has been missing since Wednesday, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff said he was last seen leaving his Highway 40 residence, driving a silver 2012 Nissan Armada.

When he left, he did not take several personal items with him, according to the sheriff, including his cell phone and a wallet.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding Independence resident 38 year-old Joe Gordon Ray Jr.
Ray has been missing since August 4, 2021. He was last seen leaving his Hwy. 40 residence driving a silver 2012 Nissan Armada.

When he left, he did not take several personal items with him. He is without his cell phone and a wallet.

Independence man still missing

Authorities continue to ask for help locating Joe Gordon Ray Jr., 38, of Independence, who has been missing since August 4, 2021.

Ray was last seen leaving his Hwy. 40 residence driving a silver 2012 Nissan Armada. When he left, he did not take several of his personal items with him. He is without his cell phone and a wallet, said Chief Jimmy Travis.


The sheriff's office is asking anyone knowing of Ray’s whereabouts to please contact the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 245-6150. Sgt. Kirby Varnado is the lead investigator.

Hmm. Could this be him? Same name, age, same general vicinity (same LA parish), picture used in obituary is younger but note looks like same facial sideburns:
