LA LA - Judy Ann Gary, 19, St. Martinville, 1 August 1986

  • #181
Shirley Gary, Judy's oldest sister, stated on 10/23/22 that she remembered Eric Richard being at the trailer at 312 Hamilton St. with Judy that morning.
(The only person that lived in the trailer at the time was their mother.)

Judy asked Eric to go with her to the pharmacy. He refused. "He instigated fights all morning."
If this did happen, I wonder whether she wanted to talk with Eric privately en route to the pharmacy. He may've refused in order to dodge that.
When I ask Shirley to recall that days events she now said she doesn't remember if Eric was there or if she saw Judy that day.
(I don't push it because I don't want to influence her memories in any way.)
Does Shirley have reason to avoid answering these questions honestly?
According to Shirley and Laura, Judy went to Hospital Drug Store to get her mother’s prescription according to their mother.
(It was open from 8 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays.)
Laura did not see her that Saturday.
Judy also had cash with her to get a gallon of milk for the widow next door. Laura believes her name was Doreen.

(the following is from the transcription of Eric Richards statement 1/18/23)
"She went to the drug store. She never came back. So, brother, uh, Nanny’s uh, brother in law, Steve. That’s his uh, that’s his real name, Steve, but we call him Ba’Boy. He said, you need to go look and see what’s going on ‘cause it’s been an hour"
(My translation of what Eric said) When Eric got to Judy's mother's house Ba'Boy told Eric to go look for Judy because she had not returned from the pharmacy.

At this point Rickey, Laura, Ba'Boy, Eric and Judy's mother were at the house on Hamilton Street.
Were they more concerned for Judy or because her mother needed the medicine right away? And was the widow anxiously waiting for the milk (i.e. preparing a meal)?
Later that afternoon, Eric says he went to the police station and reported her missing. Eric say the police told him "she didn’t commit a crime or any kind of thing" so they wouldn't do anything.
Is that a normal reaction from the police for a situation like that?
Laura said Eric told her the cops spoke to the people at the pharmacy.
Eric says he was told by the staff she willingly got into the four-door green car.

Shirley said Eric left with Rickey shortly after Judy went missing on foot.
Laura said that Eric did not return until a day or two later for Rickey.
Something's not adding up here....

Happy New Year! I apologize for falling silent but I have been working on things on my end. So much has happened.
I am going public with more case details and have full support of the chief. I created a facebook page and Tik Tok for Judy and will be posting facts there daily.
Here is the first, of many, that I posted at midnight.

Wonderful to have an update and it's great that you have the support of LE. Here's hoping 2025  is the year Judy Ann Gary gets to come home!

When did they post the story? I have been trying to keep up with everything but it seems almost impossible.

I read the Find Judy Gary FB page that showed the video that was made/Judy talking. It had both KATC & KLFY in the heading post. Maybe I misunderstood that he was on the stations’ FB page. Sorry for the confusion.

Deputies in St. Martin Parish are investigating human remains found in a wooded area in St. Martinville.

The human remains were found off of Banker Road on Monday, deputies said.

Looks to be a few blocks East of where she was last seen.

The family has already been contacted and are waiting on a positive ID. They are most likely the remains of Bill Daspit.

I was hoping they'd found Judy, but if not, someone else's people will have closure.

Judy's time is coming very soon. Bill went missing September 10, 2023 from just down the road. I think that whether it be a day not knowing, or years ,it is all equally as painful. I am happy that his wife will have closure.

So much has happened since my last post. So much so that I don't know where to start. At one point this case had me questioning my own sanity.
Here are a few recaps and will be more than happy to answer and questions.
(These are not necessarily in order but I will date them if I am able.)
1. Shirley Gary Broussard (Judy's oldest sister) passed away 4/2/2025. There is only one surviving sibling now. In Shirley's obituary there are 2 additional siblings listed that she and her sister forgot to mention.
2. One of the additional siblings, Freddie Gary passed in 1974 in Broussard, Louisiana. I added him to the family tree and found this linked article when I was looking for his obituary. He was a victim of a hit and run.
(Article Attached) After asking Laura is they caught the driver she proceeds to tell me that he was actually jumped outside of a bar and had extensive injuries to the head. Some including ice picks. (This statement is recorded and has been submitted to the Chief in St. Martinville.) The story of Freddie getting hit over the head and not by a vehicle was also confirmed by the assistant chief in Broussard, Ted Broussard. This is significant because Judy, her mother and two sisters moved onto his property in 1979 after Judy's father passed.
3. We now know the name of the police officer that Judy met with prior to her disappearance. He passed away in 1996 and was well known in the swinging community. He is listed in an obituary for a family member of Eric Richard's cousin. They had multiple ties to him. He was also known to have a relationship with the family member that got custody of Judy's nieces and nephews from Mary Ann and Pierre.

On March 12, 2025, the St. Martinville PD did excavate the property behind where Judy's mother's home was on Hamilton St. I had received a message from a woman claiming to witness an incident but no remains were found.

There is now a new detective on the case. He is the third one I have been assigned.

I apologize for so many separate messages. I am reviewing at the same time trying not to be repetitive.

Welcome back! I'm just really glad to hear from you and have updates. I've been wondering what was going on and whether any progress had been made in finding Judy (especially since I'm not on social media anymore).

Things are moving along and gradually getting crazier.
